To Lily and James Potter!

Chapter 12

TW AND CW: light to heavy cursing, will be starred out

"I pronounce you husband and wife," said Dumbledore with a warm smile. "You may kiss the bride."

James and Lily leaned in to kiss each other and everyone applauded loudly.

I heard some loud sobs from around the wedding tent... mostly from me and Sirius.

The band started to play slow music and James and Lily squealed at each other like mature adults and ran down the platform to hug us.

"Never thought I'd see Lily marrying 'that immature, arrogant, little toe-rag'," I said, hugging Lily tightly.

"I fantasized about it," noted James.

Sirius snorted. "Well, it's your wedding," he said. "Goooooooo. Have fun."

Lily and James did their squeal again and trotted off to hug everyone in the crowd because they were way too happy.

Sirius and I grinned at each other.

"Dance?" he asked.

"Yeah, sure, I guess," I said with a shrug.

Sirius rolled his eyes. "Exactly how you act at your best friend's wedding."

"Can't wait to see your best man speech," I retorted.

Sirius grinned evilly. "That's the best part of this wedding."

He held my waist and I held onto his hand, resting my head on his shoulder.

We danced slowly, until Sirius decided to ruin the mood with a cheesy pick-up line:

"Did it hurt when you fell down from heaven, Mar?" he asked cockily.

"Nah," I said, grinning at him. "But I scraped my knees crawling up from h*ll."

Sirius scoffed. "Stop ruining all my pick-up lines, Marls!"

"They were already ruined!" I said.

"They were better than the one you layed on my in our seventh year on my birthday when you tried to ask me out for a date," retorted Sirius.

I groaned. "We don't talk about that."

"'Hey Sirius,'" he mimicked in a high pitched voice. "'Let's go celebrate your birthday with mac 'n' cheese that I made alllllll on my owwwwwwn!'"

I gagged. "1: I don't sound like that. 2: Um..."

"What's number 2?" asked Sirius amusedly, twirling me.

"Poo!" I said enthusiastically.

"This is why I love you," muttered Sirius. "You're a literal child!"

"So are you!" I scoffed. "You were talking to me about how diarrhea works when I was sleeping- or TRYING to sleep!"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was time for the best man speech, which I was now seriously concerned about.
James, Lily, Alice, Remus, Peter, Sarah, and I sat at a table together as Sirius stepped in front of the microphone and cleared his throat.
"My DEER friends," said Sirius loudly.
"Oh, brother," groaned Lily under her breath. "He's not going to do this again..."
"If I am to be SIRIUS with you, I never thought I'd see a duo like James and Lily," continued Sirius with a smirk. "Everytime Lily would smile, James just ran over to me and he would say, 'Did you see that? She's so beautiful...' And meanwhile, Lily thinks he's a total dirtbag."
I sighed and rubbed my forehead.
"But then," added Sirius. "James started to accept that... maybe he wasn't going to get everything he wanted. He started to move on. And Lily started to think James had deflated his head a lot. So you know... she started totally crushing on him. You know, blushing, flirting, giggling, all that type s*** that they used to do together."
"I don't like where this is going," sighed James.
"And then, James asked Lily out one last time," said Sirius, real tears welling up in his eyes. "And Lily said yes, and it was like I was binge watching rom-com movies with Marlene all over again. IT WAS SO F***ING BEAUTIFUL!" sobbed Sirius.
I rushed up to the platform and handed him my handkerchief.
"Oh, thanks, love," he sniffled, blowing his nose into it. "Anyways, James and Lily started to go out and I'd have never thought it. Everyday, James would come back to our dorm and say, 'That was the best day ever,' and everyday spent with her became the best day ever for him. I'm so glad to have experienced their wondrous love journey with my best friend, and now, my sister. To Lily and James Potter!"
"To Lily and James Potter!" the crowd answered back.
Sirius walked down from the stage, still dabbing tears at the corner of his eyes.
"That started out horribly," said James. "But I think I'm gonna cry too."
"My already waterfalling tears bed to differ," I said, dabbing at my eyes with the sleeve of my dress.
Sirius hugged Lily and James and so did I.
"We have to get going," I told the newlywed couple. "We'll visit you in Godric's Hollow soon."
Lily and James nodded and waved.
"Bye, Mrs. Potter," I muttered to Lily with a wink.
And Sirius and I Apparated back home with a pop.
Hope y'all liked the Jily wedding it was too adorable for me to write honestly :)
