Welcome to the Daily Profits’ Herbology section! Today we are going to discuss a common weed, however, don’t be turned away! It has many useful properties.

Silverweed is a perennial herb and its scientific name is Potentilla anserina. Its leaves are green on the top, and silvery on the underside due to the extremely fine whitish hairs that grow there (hence the name). Beginning in the early summer, each plant produces a single, yellow flower that grows anywhere from six to twelve inches tall! Incredible height! This plant is very easy to grow, and the amount of sun it requires does not impact its growth, however, it cannot be planted in an area of complete shade. For watering purposes, there is no reason to be scared of overwatering, as it needs to be watered frequently. This plant is commonly used in many potions, but only in its dried form (often ground up into a powder). Some potions it is used in are cramp easing potions, sore-removing serums, and blemish removing potions. Although this plant is edible, there has not been much research done yet on any potential benefits of that!
