It All Started With A Giggle - A SNEAK PEEK OF MY NEW BOOK

Chapter 38

Hi guys! So I just started spring break, and I'm gonna be getting ready to write a loooootttt more!

So here's a sneak peek of the next book I'm planning.

I plan to release the first chapter as soon as this book is finished- but keep in mind, I will not be seperating this story into a trilogy as I have done before. The entire story will be in this book. I would expect around 130 or so chapters by the end :)

Ik the next book i'm releasing will take some time till I do publish it, but I can't wait!

And without further ado,

It All Started With A Giggle - The Prequel

~…~…~…~…~…~…

Now, you can't blame me for thinking she was pretty.

Like, really pretty.

The stormy grey eyes and the wavy brown hair that curtained her face with an air of mystery and beauty.

Professor Dumbledore cleared his throat. "Perhaps, focus on the task at hand, Mr Loughty?"

Neil snickered.

I glared at him before turning to Dumbledore. "Yes, Professor. Er- what exactly are we supposed to do?"

Dumbledore smiled slightly. "Transfigure your marble into a butterfly. Just as a small exercise."

He turned away to check the other student's progress and I turned to Neil, who was whacking his wand on the marble.

"What in Merlin's name are you doing?" I whisper-shouted.

"Not everyone's as adept at Transfiguration as your girlfriend, Arnie," said Neil grumpily.

"Oh, shut up," I grumbled, turning towards my marble.

"Swish and flick, everyone," said Professor Dumbledore loudly.

"Yeah, Mr O'Keane," I whispered to Neil. "Swish and flick!"

"Please, for the love of Helga, shut up," Neil said, glaring at me.

"Both of you, shut up," mumbled an annoyed Slytherin who sat at our table.

"Oh, shut it, Riddle," Neil muttered under his breath. "We all know you're a lying, two-faced-"

I covered his mouth before Professor Dumbledore heard anything.

~…~…~…~…~…~…

As soon as Transfiguration class ended, I grinned at the thought of my free period. Then my face dropped.

"What's wrong?" asked Neil suspiciously, glancing at my face from next to me. "Arnie? Are you alive?"

"No. I'm not alive. Slughorn gave homework."

"Well, duh, all the teachers do."

"Three essays, dimwit."

"Did he? I didn't notice."

"I can't believe you're not dead yet," I said. "Three days ago, you forgot the counter-charm for Lumos. Lumos! It's Nox, you idiot!"

"Well, how was I supposed to know that?"

"You would know it if you paid any attention on the first day of school in our first year at Hogwarts!"

"You two bicker all the time, do you?" asked a dreamy voice from behind us.

Neil and I turned around and I tried to stop myself from turning red.

"Alwena," I said, attempting my most casual voice. "How are you?"

"Splendid, how about you?" Alwena said rather gracefully.

"I'm great," I said, ignoring the fact that Neil was pressing his foot onto mine, as a way of saying, "JUST ASK HER!"

"Hey, what are you doing during your free period?" I asked.

"Heading to my common room to re-read and annotate Slughorn's essays," said Alwena, brushing her short wavy brown hair to the side.

"You annotate your essays?" asked Neil with his jaw dropped.

I tried not to kick him in the shin.

"Mmhm,"  said Alwena, ignoring, or just not noticing, that Neil's statement had been rather rude. "I think it makes it easier for Slughorn to grade. Arnie, were you asking me something?"

"Oh- right- yes!" I said suddenly. "Er- do you want to join me in my common room to do the homework together?"

"Oh, yes, that would be wonderful!"

"Great!" I said nervously. "Let's go, then."

As Alwena and I began walking, I soon became aware that Neil was right behind me.

"Er- Neil?" I asked bleakly. "What are you doing?"

"I have to go to the bathroom," Neil lied. His eyes conveyed the message, "I'm making sure you don't die of embarrassment".

"Oh, well, I'm sure you can go pee somewhere else," I said pointedly.

"No, I can only pee in the bathroom of the Hufflepuff common room."

I glared at him. "You're a Gryffindor."

Alwena glanced suspiciously at Neil. "Are you stalking your best friend?" she asked straightforwardly.

"Oh, no, I'm just making sure he doesn't die, you know," Neil reassured Alwena. "He's socially awkward."

Where are the scissors? I thought to myself. First I will kill Neil with them, then I will kill myself with them.

"Ah," Alwena said, with an understanding nod. "I am too. He's a good friend. Come on. We ought to go."

She grabbed my hand- I turned a deep red- and Alwena dragged me along the grounds, leaving a snickering Neil O'Keane behind in the dust.

~…~…~…~…~…~…

Hope you enjoyed that sneak peek! Feel free to send me any suggestions for my books, or even just to talk!

I love y'all soooo much and thank you for supporting my writing right from the start :)

Love,
