Chapter 4
"Ok, Snape. Get a grip. It's just one month. Not that big of a deal." She sighed as she walked to the library. She sat her stuff down at an empty table before going to get books on Transfiguration.
She felt something cold behind her, and she whirled her hand around, her fist making contact with a cheek. "Bloody hell!" Draco screamed, which was followed by a chorus of shushing. "Why do you have to sneak up on me like that?" She snarled, storming towards the table and slamming the books on the table. He sat next to her, his cheek now red. It looked bad, but Sara kept it to herself.
They read the pages in silence. After a while, Draco commented. "You're very strong, princess."
She nodded dismissvely, focusing on the book.
"But you're not a very strong conversationalist." He continued. "And you're clearly not good at taking hints." Sara grumbled. He turned away in annoyance. "How much longer?"
"We got here five minutes ago!" She roared in disbelief. Her eyebrow twitched. "Yeah, this isn't working. We need a change of scenery. Tomorrow, come to the Slytherin common room. I'll let you in, princess." Draco stood up, grabbed his stuff, and left.
Once in the Ravenclaw common room, Sara dramatically crumpled on the floor and crawled to the couch. She sprawled across it. "I'm doomed." She whined. Cho Chang patted her head, laughing. "Yes, it does seem pretty bad. Go get some sleep. Maybe it will be better tomorrow."
The next day, Draco walked her to the Slytherin common room. "Oh, wow." She said when she walked in. "It's so beautiful." She noticed there was a giant window where you could see the Black Lake. The giant squid floated around the window. She noticed Draco staring. "What?"
"Nothing." He looked away. They sat down. "So, you like the common room, princess?"
"It's pretty nice." She frowned at him, but her previous warmth when she had entered had said it all. "Has anyone ever told you that you ask too many questions?" Sara sat down on one of the couches.
"No, actually. I'm only curious about you." He said softly. She laughed uncomfortably, her eyebrow twitching, and opened her book. They talked a bit, but it was the bare minimum. Just Draco asking a question and Sara giving the least descriptive answer.
"Can I ask you something, princess? It's a question a lot of people get stumped on." Draco asked as he walked her to the Ravenclaw common room. "Ask away." She said boredly. "What's the difference between lonely and alone?" He tilted his head. Sara stopped walking and considered the question. "Alone is something you are. You can choose to be alone. Lonely is a feeling. You can't choose to feel lonely." She said quietly. Draco nodded, staring. "Do you feel lonely?" She looked down and sighed. "All the time." She shook her head, her eyebrow twitching. "Ok, anyways, we're h-h-here. Goodbye." She quickly ran into the common room.
