Pan was a god of the great great Ancient Greeks! He was resembled by a "faun" which is the exact word in Latin, which in Greek means protector of the sheep (ΠΑ = Βόσκω) Pa = shepperd. Which means he caressed human beings, the sheeps is a metaphor. hehe ,more to read, if u are interested, feel free to add the book in your bookself!
