Y1 L6: Basic blooms: Part II

Chapter 6

Silver weed: 


Silver weed is a fast spreading herd. It thrives in temperature regions across the world. Silver weed has green leaves on the top whereas the underside is silvery. In early summer, it produces yellow flows on stalks which range from six to twelve inches tall. It can be harvested and dried, either by hand or with the drying charm. It is used in potions for healing purposes. Recent recent shows the potential for blemish removing potions, however it causes teeth fusion. It is also edible and consumed regularly by livestock. 


Nettle: 
Nettles grow in Northen Europe, Asia, Southern Europe, South Africa and Australia. They reach height between 3 to 7 feet and are able to thrive best in moist soil and prefer slightly alkaline considitions. Sunlight requirements range from sun to partial shade. Harvesting should be done on early summer, and dry days. They are used in potions, beverages and hair tonics. On a more historical side, they were used for healing, preventing poisonings and preventing baldness. 


Motherwort: 


Motherwort is a relative to the mint family. It grows up to three feat and thrives in various conditions and can be invasive if not contained. It prefers slightly alkaline soil, but can tolerate a variety of PH levels. Motherwort is used in potions for helping child birth and heart related issues. It is known historically for remidiese in hydrophobia. The roots however, have no known uses.


Fluxweed: 


Fluxweed is a member of the mustard family. It grows up to 30 inches tall with yellow flowers in the months of July and August. Originally it was from Western Asia, but has spread to other parts of Asia and Europe. Fluxweed prefers either full sun or dry conditions. Flux weed is used in poly juice potions, and can aid with dysentery and diarrhea.
