Y3 L9: A Cautionary Tale
Chapter 28
Helping Muggles:
Muggles and wizards worked together side by side for years before the statue of secracy was signed, seeing the amount of damage both classes of people can do to each other. However, magical plants still remain within muggle litreature, but are seen as nothing but 'fictional.' This was signed by the ICW in order to ensure that it was fair for both societies, but also in case the ministry couldn't get to emergancies fast enough. This would mean that muggles weren't entirely helpless within this situation.
Venomous Tentacula:
Tentacular venimeux occurs within litreature, given an easier name for muggles to remember as tentaculum. It does not occur too often within muggle litreature, however. Classified under Class C within the WHIPS rating, this plant enjoys any type of acifica soil, with a clear preference towards lower pH levels. Venomous Tentacula is typically used for unpleasent reasonings, such as posion which can cause severe illness, but not to the point of death alongside various dark potions. However, for less grim purposes its leaves can be socked in dissolving acid. Scoring a two on the WHIPS ranking, ensure your safety comes first with this plant.
Raskovnik:
Felicita omeritus is a perennial native to Slavic countries with a reputation of being a difficult plant when it comes to spotting it. Growing up to several inches tall, this plant prefers an alkiline soil with a pH between 8.0 and 8.5 growing within partial sun only. In addition, Raskovnik has the ability to grow in watery conditions. Muggle tales typically show a tricky snake which shows the way to this plant, or a gift recieved from woodland creatures to better their life. The herb is capable of unlocking a varieted of locked beings, with its use within the potion of liquid luck symbolising the find of lost treasure.
Fern Flower:
Another plant native to Slavic countries, the fern flower only blooms during the summer solstace. Necter from these flowers sprout good wisdom, weath, fortune and the ability to speak with animals if consumed. However, if consumed straight the flower can result in danger, with its use even being considered dark by some herbologists. Muggle litreature demonstrates this by telling the story of a fern flower sprouting on only the night of the summer solstace being a catylst of great evil. If used correctly, it can be used efficently in potions such as Felix Felices and promotion of the Parseltounge language. When harvesting, you should wear a mask with the Bubble-Head Charm to protect yourself with a Severing Charm to stay clear of its danger. The plant requires alkaline soil with a pH level between 8.4 to 9.0 with a need for constantly wet soil.
Lotus:
The lotus tree is yet another magical plant featured within muggle literacy, with many non magical varients exsisting. Both the trees in and outside of litreature are found in the Southern parts of Europe. The fruit is often potrayed as one which makes the characters forget all about their friends, family and home which couldn't be more spot on from the truth of the fruit itself. Zizyphus Lotus is to be grown in full sun, alkaline soil between 7.9 to 8.4 on the pH scale and watered frequentaly within warm enviorments. The plant will only grow up to five feet fall, and forcing to grow the tree futher isn't advised. Potioneers often use the leaves and fruit of the tree to create feelings of contentness, forgetfullness and sleepiness. However, in most cases it is advised to leave it alone as long term use can be incredibly harmful.
