Lesson 4: Asia Part 1 - Early Civilizations

Chapter 3

  • Mesopotamia

    • Cradle of Civilization

    • Greek for "the land between rivers"

    • Sumer was one of the most important city-states

    • Among the first to create potions

    • Magic was an important part of their culture

    • Epic of Gilgamesh - Gilgamesh was a wizard



  • Phoenicia

    • Highly magical culture

    • Form of writing called Phoenician

    • Used magical wood in their boats

    • Boats were protected by charms

    • Phoenician spells were done ritually and wandlessly



  • Indus River Valley

    • Highly magical

    • Almost 80% of their artifacts have magic

    • Magic here was much more refined

    • Caste system was just starting

    • The Brahmin protected the villagers from the Lahoo Vampires
