When she wakes up

I yawn and get up, it's a normal day. Soon my mom calls out for me to get up. I get up, yawning and stretching and going to brush my teeth. I finish and go to the breakfast table to see that my mom had made breakfast, pancakes and eggs. I sit down and start eating. Soon my dad calls out forgetting where his lucky tie went. I laugh as I finish eating and start getting ready for my morning run. 

I start running to the beach, 2 miles. I got there and it was closed. I turn away cursing under my breath. I start jogging back, and I feel myself shaking, but it doesn't feel like an earthquake…

I hear screams and I see a garage collapse to the ground next to a house as I jog past it.

I hear a scream, and I stop in my tracks. My blood chills, I know that scream. It's Thomas. He lives in the house across from mine. My stomach tightens and  I think about my parents, are they okay?

Suddenly a light post crashes into a car, setting off an alarm, and glass shattering the windows, a shard barely misses me.

I walk up to my driveway, and freeze, taking in my surroundings. I see furniture and childrens toys scattered around. Houses that have fallen in… Just total destruction.  And my house? It's nowhere to be seen. 

I look over to where my home should be, but instead I see a deep sinkhole. I walk over to look inside of it and I cry out…
