The Elder Wand
Chapter 3
Melody gasped in awe when she saw the platform. 9 3/4 was an amazing place. She nimbly stepped over a sleeping cat. Her owl (She was named Flames) hooted to a second majestic bird. The bird hooted back, and Flames squeaked with delight. Knowing Flames would follow her, she went ahead and took a seat on the train. Just after she closed the door, it reopened. A boy of her age was shoved into the cart with her, while the gang she had meet two weeks ago closed the door again. Melody had to hold her breath to keep from touching them. The boy saw her and have a weak smile. He had tousled black hair, green eyes framed by round glasses. "I know you," Melody said. "You're James Albus Severus Potter... or is it Albus Severus James Potter... or is it —" The boy cut her off. "Just call me Potter," he said, shrugging. "Is this your real skin?" Potter asked. How should I take this? Melody thought. "Yes," she said after an awkward pause. "My mother was jinxed, and —" "I think it's cool," Potter laughed, his eyes smiling with him. Melody liked Potter. He was the first person to treat her nicely. There was a slight lurch forward and a whistle as the train began to move. Potter, who had been standing up, was lurched into the wall. Melody laughed. "I'd like four chocolate frogs, please," Melody said, holding out her sickles. The coins glinted in the sunlight while the trolley witch grasped them. For bags were placed in her lap.
