Deep down in the deep Black Lake there lived a beautiful mer-girl called Rosie. Her scales were every colour of
the rainbow and they shone like the sun. Rosie lived in the Black Lake and spent her days playing hide and seek between the
seaweed with her friend the Giant Squid. But then the Giant Squid moved away
for a bit to the Barrier Reef for his health so Rosie was left all alone.

Rosie was a very lonely mer-girl
after the Giant Squid left. None of the other mer-people liked her because they were
jealous of her gorgeous scales. They teased Rosie and left her out of their
games. Rosie was very sad.
