You know, when I first found out that I wasn't going to die, I was ecstatic. I was jumping for joy, celebrating my new-found eternal life. I couldn't wait to go out and explore the world. And why shouldn't I be? I had all the time in the world to do whatever I wanted! But that's not how it ended up. Not at all. What really happened was that all my friends and family died around me and I was left alone. So alone. I'd never been bothered by being alone before, but this was a different kind of loneliness. The kind of loneliness that eats you alive, and cuts deep to the core of your very being. The kind of loneliness that comes with the knowledge that there is nothing left for you, and there never will be. And that's my life now. I'm cursed with immortality, a fate far worse than death. And right now, I'd welcome death with open arms.

But death will never come.
