The Hogwarts Express History
The Hogwarts Express was made after they needed a way for students to get transported to Hogwarts.
They first tried Side-Along Apparition but there were anti-apparition charms casted on Hogwarts so it isn't possible for them to do that. Then they tried Portkeys but that didn't work because some students missed their Portkeys others became "Portkey-Sick" and missed class because they were in the hospital wing. Then they tried the transportation called Floo Powder which many Headmasters/Headmistress didn't want to use because it could cause the breach of Hogwarts.
Finally, Minster For Magic Ottaline Gambol created the task of the biggest construction yet. After 67 Memory Charms on Muggles and the largest ever mass Concealment Charm the Hogwarts Express was ready. There were still some problems with this because students who were already in Scotland had to travel all the way to King's Cross station just to return back to Scotland.

The Hogwarts Express takes students from King's Cross Station to Hogwarts. In the Hogwarts Express, they can hang around and talk with friends. You could also get meals from the Trolley Lady who handed sweets for you to eat.
