Chapter 5
Concentration- Shaping of your will towards a specific goal
- Meditation helps with focusing
- Might require visualization

- Brighter than typical wand-lighting charm
- Incantation: Lumos Solem (LOO-mos so-LEM)
- Wand Movement: Single counter-clockwise loop ending with the wand pointed toward the target
- Willpower: Low to very high; determines color and intensity of light
- Concentration: High; The target of the light
- Amount of willpower put into the spell determines how powerful the effect is
- Requires concentration to precisely target the beam and keep the spell from simply flickering out just after being cast
- Depending on willpower, beam intensity will range from faint white light to brilliant light golden yellow light
- Does not turn scarlet if over charged
- Never point wand directly towards own face or anyone elses
- Great for concentration practice
- Light will quickly fade out if not properly concentrating
- Only last 5-6 seconds
The Dancing Lights Charm
- Conjure several small, floating lights
- Each orb casts as m uch light as a candle
- Incantation: Lumos Numerosa (LOO-mos noom-air-O-sa)
- Wand Movement: Single counter-clockwise loop, then several rapid counter-clockwise loops
- Concentration: High; Concentration should be maintained on all the orbs, determines how many can be created
- Much concentration upon each orb that is conjured
- Number of orbs= casters ability to concentrate upon them, most skilled can at most cast a dozen at a time, first year=3-5 orbs at a time
- Keeping orbs clustered makes easier to move
