The phylum Arthropoda goes back to 570 to 530 million years ago, during the Cambrian Explosion. These species were aquatic & tiny. Traits of arthropods include bilateral symmetry, paired appendages, segmented composition, & a hard exoskeleton.

Insects (Cockroaches & Butterflies)

Insecta is estimated to be ninety percent of the multi-cellular life on Earth. There are a span of four thousand & six hundred species of cockroaches. Termites are also a form of cockroach. Arachnids (Spiders)

Arachnida consists of spiders, scorpions, mites, & ticks & they are carnivorous. Spiders were found around 300 million years ago, though spinnerets were found around 280 million years ago. Funnel-web spiders are toxic to humans, fruit flies, baby rats, & monkeys. In the Muggle world, its venom is used as a pesticide or to treat respiratory illnesses. Research is being done to treat cardiac arrhythmia, Alzheimer's, & stroke. Spiders represent the control of destiny. House spiders are used in confidence potions & used in poisons, as well as the antidotes to said poisons.

Crustaceans (Mantis Shrimp)

Crustaceans are said to be found 500 million years ago. Prawns, krill, crabs, lobsters, crayfish, tadpole shrimps, & general shrimp are all crustaceans. Its eyes are used in sight restoration potions & sight-improvement potions to treat eye disorders such as glaucoma. While humans have three color-receptive cones, the mantis shrimp has 16 cones. Its claws are used in strength, endurance, & speed potions. These potions are banned in all wizard sports. In taking these potions, permanent harmful alterations to your muscular & nervous systems are side effects.
