Lesson One: Administration Ethics Study Guide

Chapter 2

When practicing the healing arts, the oath states that you will do the work with responsibility & honesty. Treating patients must have informed consent. The Ministry of Magic requires a consent form from every patient under the Patient & Subject Comprehension & Consent Law of 1849. The patient must sign an official document consenting to the treatment. If the patient is a minor or in a different state of mind, an eligible family member or guardian signs the consent form.

The patient under going experimental trials must know that the effects of treatment are unknown & can cause unwanted pain or effects to occur. When treating magical creatures, it is sometimes harder to find out if consent is granted. When treatment is given to a non-human, the healer must first seek advice from a magi zoologist. If no family members are in contact with the healer or the patient is a John Doe, the healer must make the best treatment decision in place of the family & the patient.
