Chapter 3: Flourish & Blotts
Chapter 5
Flourish and Blotts was packed and busy - as always. Hundreds of people were milling about, some with stacks of books so high that blocked their entire face! That pleased me a lot, as you can imagine. I love books. More than so many things!
“So, where shall we go?” Luna asked, shuffling her paper bag and looking around.
“Hmm, top floor? We need to buy several books from the Romance section, according to Professor Mcgongall.” Ginny replied, picking up her list. I peered at it.
“So far Professor Mcgongall has been making riddles for us. First Femine Garments and now Romance - this is a bit suspicious.” I muttered, quietly, so that many people wouldn’t hear. Luna nodded and looked around.
“To floor it is then,” She said in a sing-song voice and we trooped upstairs. After a few bruised legs and a couple of sharp jabs for Luna who has a curious habit of walking into people, we were upstairs.
Suddenly, a crowd of young girls suddenly broke apart. One of them squealed.
“Oooh! Are you actually the Hermione Granger?” One of them asked. A tall girl blocked her and spoke instead.
“How do you do, Miss Granger? I’m Willow, Willow Harens. I was wondering if you could sign me an Autograph? That’s my friends, Kate, Ruby and Anna.” Willow said breathlessly, gazing at me with pure admiration painted on her face. Ginny chuckled and nudged me. I fell back to my senses.
“Oh, sure. I’m brilliant. So..” I paused, taking a piece of parchment, “ One for you, Willow, and…aha, that’s for - what’s your name - Ruby, here you go Kate and…” I continued, sighing furiously with speed, “Here you go, Anna.” After a chorus of “Thank you!” and “You’re my idol!” I managed to tear myself away from the flustered girls. Luna was smiling secretly and Ginny was grinning at me shiftily. I blushed.
“Don’t tell me you aren't used to this already, Mione?” She asked, her wits never at end. I gave her a playful punch and we continued to make our way. Finally, we stopped at a tattered sign. It said “Romance Section”. We went in.
“Okay.” Luna muttered.
“Ok, here we go: Book number 1: Princess Tales of Beedle the Bard. Hang on a triple second.” Ginny suddenly said.
“I never knew that he did publish book number 2!!” I gasped. I quickly fumbled for her bag and began fishing for my list. I looked at it. It said:
Princess Tales of Beedle the Bard
“Heavens!” Luna gasped. She began rapidly looking for that book at the “P” section. I helped her, while Ginny twirled her ring on her hand, admiring it. I felt myself smiling at her. Soon, Luna gave a yell.
“Here hoe! Here it is. Look.” She put three copies of a small rectangle book in our bags.
“Next,” I read out, “Book number 2. The Guide to Make Magic With Men.” I groaned. This seemed to get worse and worse. Ginny looked through the shelves and found out that the whole book has a series!
“I just hope that we don’t have to take ALL of them.” Luna muttered. But it turned out that this was exactly what we needed to do.
“Damn.” Ginny said as she produced a pile of books as tall as herself.
“Let’s head down and buy them.” I said and we carried huge stacks of books downstairs (Luna nearly tripping Ginny up altogether).
