Chapter 4

Fairies:
Fairies are extremely important to the wizarding world, due to their use for potions! Now, fairies are very vain creatures. When you remove their wings for potions, they can get quite angry, since it "ruins their style". An important thing to note for fairy keepers is that they live in an outdoor environment ,so if you wish to keep them inside, then please add lots of plants and bushes! Oh, and remember a mirror, one per fairy!

Now fairies lay their eggs on the underside of leaves and guard it heavily, to avoid bowtruckles. There are many differences between Laverne wings and adult wings: Laverne wings and small and hard to see, whereas adult wings grow down to their legs and go over their head. The colouring is also different, Laverne fairies wings are pale green, whereas adult wings come in a variety of colours.

It is unlikely, however some fairy wings will never take on any colour. These fairies also have lighter hair, skin etc. Albisim, which is the lack of colour in skin can be seen in 5% of the fairy population. Many will not sell these wings, as it is a myth that they will not be very effective in potions. Fairy mating is quite simple, it occurs when a male fairy compliments the female by pointing at her wings, if she likes the male back then they will come out of the bushes.

Fairies live an average of 20 years, however they will not look a day past 10. Fairy wings are very useful in multiple different potions including the girding potion.
