It's a Definite Kind of Love (A Blackinnon Fanfiction)
Ever since that one kiss, something had changed between them. They were more comfortable with each other. They cared for each other (mostly... sometimes... 70% of the time... 60%...) They actually tried hard for each other. This is the story of Sirius Black and Marlene McKinnon. WARNING: There are mentions of violence in this story. If it is a trigger, feel free to close this book. All credits go to J.K. Rowling except for my OCs. That One Weird Moment Where Marlene Is Actually Sassier Than Usual
Chapter 9
TW AND CW: VERY LIGHT MENTIONS OF ABUSE
Marlene guided Sirius into the living room. "Mom, Dad-" she said. "This is my friend, Sirius."
Her father blinked. "Sirius what?"
Sirius and Marlene exchanged a look.
"Sirius Black, sir," said Sirius quietly.
Marlene's father looked disgusted. "Why are you friends with a Death Eater, Marlene?"
Marlene squinted at him angrily. "Sirius is NOT a Death Eater."
Her father stood up and pointed at Sirius. "Get out of my household NOW. I never want to see such filth cross this threshold ever again."
Sirius gulped.
Marlene looked really angry now. "Dad, his surname doesn't change the fact that he is or isn't a good person. Because he is."
Marlene shot a swift glance at her mom to try to let her know that her father had to face the facts.
Her mom got the message. "She's right, Sean, sit down and let them explain."
Her dad glanced at his wife and sighed. He sat down.
Marlene sighed too. "Ok. So Sirius is from that family, but he doesn't support any of those Death Eater values."
"What house is he in?" asked Marlene's dad with a muffled voice.
Before Sirius could answer, Marlene shouted, "For Godric's sake Dad, it doesn't matter! Whether he was in Hufflepuff or in Slytherin, he's still a great guy and the house literally doesn't matter!"
Her dad looked taken aback.
"But for your information," said Marlene a little quieter. "Gryffindor."
Marlene's dad's mouth made an 'o' shape.
"Geez..." Sirius thought to himself. "I've never seen Marlene be sassier than this."
Marlene turned to her mom. "Mom, you wanted to talk to him, right?"
Pearl nodded.
(A/N: we're calling her by her first name because I don't have the energy to write 'her mom'. I'm just lazy that way hehe)
"What did you want to talk to me about, Mrs. McKinnon?" asked Sirius politely.
Pearl frowned. "I know that your parents abused you when you were younger, and they still do it now. Is there anything you need? Anything I can do to help you?"
Sirius smiled. Marlene's mother was so sweet and gentle. "No thank you, Mrs. McKinnon."
Pearl smiled politely at him and Marlene. "Marlene, show him up to your room. I'll have your dad bring another mattress up there for him to sleep on."
Marlene and Sirius nodded.
Sean still looked at Sirius with disgust.
It was definitely the wrong time to mention them dating.
