A change of mind

Chapter 3

Isla and Willow sat in a Compartment all by themselves. It was a blessing to find one un - occupied, for the rest were full of chattering girls and boys. Suddenly, the door banged open. A girl stood there, breathless with laughter at her friend's antics - she was the one that had crashed the door open.

“Excuse me?” Willow asked quietly, yet her anger was visible.

“What do you want?” Isla asked, openly rudely as the girls looked in.

The two girls now looked serious.

“Sorry to be a pain. We wanted to sit here.” And, the dark haired girl, who they later found out was Joan, looked at them in surprise.

“Oh, Fairy, old girl - they must be the new twins!”

“Fairy?” Isla asked, forgetting her anger for a moment.

“Ha. No, I wish. No one has called me Fairy Godmother yet. I’m Fay, Fay Robertson. I saw you on open day! Welcome to Hogwarts - the best school in the Kingdom!” Fay pronounced, grinning at the twins. Isla sniffed. Willow threw them a disgusting look.

“What about Beauxbatons? What Primary did you go to - anyway?” Isla asked, who was more confident in shaming them.

“Astounding Hills Primary School! Me and Joan went there.” Fay replied, her laughing smile etched on her face.

“Astounding Hills? Seriously? We at Clesity Primary thought nothing of it.” Isla sniffed again disdainfully and Willow felt slightly red. She was slightly embarrassed of what her sister was doing.

“Well, you’ve got a rubbish sense of humor then!” Scorned Joan icily. “What about you? Cat got your tongue, Willow?” Willow froze. How did Joan know how to tell them apart? They only had one school photo of them, when applying for the school. And, as far as they knew, no one could tell them apart. Even Kate, who was with them for two years, found it hard. Fay was beginning to frown,

“Joan. Alita. Revoler. Give them a chance!” Fay said, unaware of the sudden tension.

“How - did - you - you - tell - us apa..apart?” Isla stammered, her confidence forgotten. Joan laughed loudly.

“Got it, Fairy?” She laughed, wiping her tears from her eyes in delight “I’ve got four sisters. We’re quints. I know how to tell triple people apart!!” Isla and Willow felt that they warmed to the witty, sharp-tongued girl. Even Fay cracked a smile.

“We didn’t want to come here - but it’s not that bad, is it, Isla?” Willow asked. Then, Isla said three words that made them all friends together.

“No, it isn’t.”A
