The Beginnings
Chapter 1
Born in the year 1425 my great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great-grandfather Goodwin Flourish grew up with a rather fond enjoyment of books. He would often spend his summers in the local library and libraries in muggle towns in order to expand his knowledge.
One summer day, in a particularly busy muggle library, Goodwin came across a particularly pretty muggle named Susan Blott. Naturally, he quickly scurried away. He was a nervous boy, but he had a big heart, so a few days later he went back to find her.
They shared their love for reading and their thirst for knowledge. But most importantly, their shared dream of opening a book shop.
Once they had married and bore three children, (Mathilda, Berkley and Lordus Flourish), Goodwin, Susan and the children headed for London.
By 1454, Flourish & Blotts had occupied a space on Diagon Alley.
