Chapter 2: we woke up early the next day and ate breakfast. We then went to Charing Cross Rd. where we found the pub. We walked through the doors and found that it was a dinghy little place. There were people sitting around drinking and talking to one another. There were a few people smoking from a pipe. We went up to the bar and asked the barman to let us into Diagon alley. He came out from behind the bar and we followed him out the back door. He tapped on a series of bricks in front of us upon which they slid aside to reveal a bustling Diagon alley. he told us that our first stop would be the wizarding bank which is run by goblins. He told us that we could exchange our Muggle money for wizarding money. He said goodbye to him and went up to a snowy white building which said Gringotts. there was a note on the door warning against thieves. We walk through the double doors and up to the counter. My dad told the goblin that we were looking to exchange Muggle money for Wizarding money. He took our Muggle money and exchanged it for Wizarding money. We think the goblin and went back out the door. Our first stop was Madame Malkin‘s robes for all occasions. Martina and I stepped onto the stools. There was a lot of measuring. Once we were finished we went to flourish and blots bookshop. I picked up the required books along with a few extras. I picked tales of Beedle the bard, Hogwarts a history, and Quidditch through the ages. Afterwards we went to get our potion supplies which included a cauldron, a set of brass scales, and a set of crystal files. Then came the shop that we were anticipating the most. The wind shop. My wind turned out to be holly and Phoenix feather 11  inches with slightly Swishy flexibility. Martinez turned out to be alder and unicorn hair 11 1/2 inches with slightly Swishy flexibility. we then went to the last stop which was the pet shop. I got a phoenix named Melody and Martina chose a cat called Aslan. We then went home where my parents told me what actually happened to my babysitter. They told me that she died trying to save me. Voldemort killed her and he tried to kill me but failed. The spell backfired and he was destroyed. I asked why Martina wasn’t the The girl who lived and they told me that I had the power to destroy him. Even though I had a grave situation to face I was determined to do well regardless. In a month or so we would be going to Hogwarts and we couldn’t wait.
