Journal,
Today was my first day at Hogwarts. Mum and dad shipped me off to the Hogwarts Express at Platform 9 and 3 quarters at 11 a.m. with a hug and a wave. They couldn't even go into the platform with me. You see, mum and dad are muggles and have raised me as muggle as long as I can remember. My mum's sister was a witch though which is where I got it from. Auntie Emelia was the best aunt anyone could ever ask for. She used to sit me down on the porch and we would each have a glass of warm milk and tea bags. Auntie would take her finger in the air and swirl it in a circle above the cups to mix the tea bag in without touching it. Then she would let me try. She told me she could do these things because she was special, and i was special too just like her. I think my parents tried to keep me away from magic because they thought I was also a muggle, but auntie and I would have our tea parties alone and only on Sundays.
When I got on the train I sat in a car by myself so I could read and not talk to anyone. My only best friend was Auntie Emelia and ever since she disappeared I haven't found talking worth my breath. That's why I write. I was alone for at least an hour when the trolly cart woman slid open the door. I bought a chocolate frog and saved the frog in my bag. I only ever get them for the cards anyway. Everyone says that Dumbledoore is the most common but all I ever get are cards with Professor Sprout on them. Auntie also used to bring me a chocolate frog with the milk and tea. I would get the card and legs of the frog and Auntie would get the rest of the frog after she made it stop hopping around.
After riding in little boats across the lake we had the sorting ceremony and a feast. The food was pretty good, but the talking hat kind of freaked me out. However, it announced that I was in the Hufflepuff house. Honestly I was hoping for Griffendor since Auntie was in that house.
I'm sitting on my bed right now with guess what. A real live person! Her name is Olivia Hawthorn and she came up to me and talked to me and I talked back. I know crazy right! She is really nice and for once in a long time, I'm actually enjoying human (witch) company. Overall it's been a pretty good day. I didn't even break, spill, or ruin anything. I hope this change will be good for me.
