lily entered the shop just as someone pushed past her, leaving her and her mother alone in the shop full of bookcases but with long narrow boxes she presumed were wands. "Hello" her mother called out as a man with grey hair appeared from behind shelves. "ahhhh a first year" he exclaimed "now what is your name my dear" he asked her in a raspy old voice. "erm Lily Evans " she said. He turned and walked away disappearing into the rows of wands. He came back holding 3 boxes, he lay them out and offered her the first wand, she grabbed the handle of the brown wand that had a swirling vine going up to the tip. She looked at him with wide eyes confused "well go on give it a wave'' He said. She flicked her wrist and out came a blue spark that caused a lamp and some books sitting on a corner table to shoot across the room. She jumped back and put the wand down and looked at her mother, she had an interested look on her face as she looked at the next wand that was being offered. This time the wand was black with bumps on it to indicate that there was a handle and it had a swirled pattern like tree roots just above the hilt. She waved her arm and a ball of light appeared and lit up the room. '' well that's certainly the one for you, it is black oak, 11 inches long and has a unicorn tail in it. They spent the rest of the afternoon buying robes books equipment and more, they also had a fantastic lunch in the leaky caldron. AT 2pm they left to go home and tell her father all about the amazing day. But before they left her mother had a surpprise for her, she pulled out a large cage and inside it was a beautiful golden brown barn owl it hooted at her. "this is a congratulations present and I always knew there was something special about you my darling " her mother said in an adoring voice. Lily gave her mother a huge hug and they headed home.
