Guinevere
10 years ago. 3 years before her death
Guinevere was standing off to the side of the training room, as Anwir stood over Jack, with his sword against his throat. “Get up. Now” he growled at Jack and stood up shakily and held his sword out and Guinevere had to look away as her son went flying yet again. “You pathetic boy! You can’t even hold a sword properly.” Anwir growled at Jack who flinched.
“I am sorry”
“sorry isn’t good enough Jonathan.” He said again “now get up, if you don’t want to die.” He said, and Guinevere had enough, and she quickly stepped Infront of her son.
“Enough Anwir. Can’t you see that our son is exhausted, he can barely stand up.” She said firmly, her eyes flashing a light yellow.
“I don’t care Guinevere; he has to get strong and if he can’t even-” his voice cut of as Guinevere interrupted.
“he’s only 8 years old!” she snaped “an 8-year-old can't fucking carry a sword!” she said,
“I learned how to fight when I was only 5 years old! If Jack can't, then he’s no son of mine!” He shouted standing to his full size. “Now get out of the way.” He said calmly. Guinevere stood tall and bravely and stared at Anwir
“no, I am not going to let you do this.” Anwir’s eyes narrowed to slits, and he raised his hand to strike his wife, but he froze when his son stood up holding his sword against his neck.
“Step back from my mother.” He growled, his hands were shaking from fear and Anwir smirked.
“Looks like our son isn’t totally useless after all.”
“let’s see how this plays out” Anwir said before he jerked his hand to the left and Jack stepped the left, holding his head high.
“I am strong, and I am not pathetic.” He said firmly. And he held the sword Infront of him. Anwir smirked and held his own sword against his sons, and they circled each other a bit before Jack launched forwards first and their swords clashed together and Anwir quickly twisted the sword out of his sons hand, shoving him back with his foot, causing him to stumble. But he did not stop, he jabbed his sword towards Jack, and he quickly rolled away just in time, and he jumped away grabbing his sword on the way.
This when on for a few more minutes before Guinevere could not take it and she threw her hand out, sending them both flying. “Enough!” she shouted the air crackled with her mystic powers “no more fighting. Anwir stop before you kill him.” She lifted off the ground a few inches. She watches as Anwir’s eyes Widen slightly, before they flash and he throws his arms out, causing his wife to drop to the ground, the lighting leaving.
“Leve him alone, he’s had enough, I am not going to watch you kill out son.” Anwir rolled his eyes “whatever.” He said before stalking out the door leaving Guinevere with her wounded and exhausted son.
JACK
“You have to stop doing this Jack, your going to get yourself killed.” His mother said as she cleaned the cuts that his father made that day with his sword.
“I did not want him to hurt you.” Jack augured, and Guinevere sighed.
“that’s not what I meant; I mean this in general.” She said gesturing to his frame witch was cover in cuts and scrapes.
“I know mother, but I don’t want to be useless.” He said looking down.
“Jack, look at me.” When he did, she continued. “You’re not useless Jack, you are one of the strongest kids I’ve EVER met, and I’ve met a lot. So, I don’t ever want you to think that.”
Jack smiled gently and he hugged her.
“Thank you, mom.”
“Your welcome Jack, now, go see your sibling, you deserved it.” She said, and Jack nodded before heading upstairs to his siblings rooms.
