Aurors and the Escape
Chapter 18
After that episode none of us were allowed outside the Mansion grounds not even to go to The Wizards Arms the children friendly wizard pub they went every weekend which nobody was pleased about. Not even to be taken to the pureblood friends houses. It was a complete house lockdown. It only 3 days until September 1st and there was a big tussle between the seniors and adults about how it will work. Mr Stebbins and a selection of the seniors said that Gladys and Edie would escort them to the train but Mrs Stebbins and the rest all think that Lucius or Wilma should take them just for extreme precautions. Whilst they were arguing in the kitchen Edie supervised the beginners training session as Gladys was in the midst of the debate in the kitchen. It turned out, Edie was a much better teacher then Gladys even though she was a decent one she tended to get carried away and ramble on about Bellatrix and the Dark Lord. However Edie took one look at the plan and made it her own. Nobody had ever had such fun in lessons. Just when they were dismissed soemeone started banging on the door. This, for the kids, was a signal to get down to the basement and wait whoevers at the door out.
"Okay everyone take the side door. It's the quickest way down. Vicky stay in the front your the most vulnerable right now." Whispered Edie urgently leading them out. Swiftly, ignoring the continued knocks everyone met in the basement waiting and waiting... BANG. The door was flung open and all the Aurors filed in. Mrs Stebbins heart plummerting asked
"Please this is breaking and entering! What do you want Sirs?" She asked haughtilly
The aurors looked quite taken aback. They expected her to be alarmed but clearly she wasn't in the least. Quickly a guard spoke up for the rest
"We are the Aurors and we have reason to believe somethings going on in this house." Mrs Stebbins raised her eyebrows.
"Is that so? Well in that case feel free to explore."
So they did. They turned the whole house upside down and didn't even bother asking if there was an attic or basement just apologised and left. But not long after they sent in dementors. Great eerie kissing monsters who would do anything that they were ordered to do by the humans. Well, depends on where there loyalties lie really. And currently it's with the aurors. Or so they thought. After the dementors, the head of auror department Harry Potter strided through the door.
"Where is Pamela McField? I need her."
Mrs Stebbins blinked.
"I'm sorry who? I'm Mrs Stebbins I don't have a Pamela McField in my house!" She said indigniantly.
Mr Stebbins came to the door and put a protective arm over her shoulder and asked
"What's happening here?"
Mrs Stebbins opened her mouth to answer but the Harry put in first
"Pamela McField. If you could please bring her over here if would..."
"Sorry." Interuptted Mr Stebbins with an authentic look of confusion "We do not have a 'Pamela McField' in this house. You've searched it thoroughly haven't you?"
Harry looked slightly embarrassed by this. Could he have really made a mistake? They didn't give of kidnapping vibes. So, he apologised saying
"Apologies Madam and Sir. Before I leave have you seen a girl like this?" He held up a picture of Pamela which was very clearly her. However, the Stebbins shook there head. Then when Harry turned to leave a fellow colleaugue yelled
"McField! There!"
And so it was. Stupidly, Pamela crept out of the basement just to check everything was in the clear despite Edie's objections. But, although she didn't know it, she wasn't alone. Molly followed her out of the basement and when she saw the guards charging it Pamela she shouted the incantion for the trip jinx
"Flipendo!"
One by one each guard including Harry was knocked down giving Pamela and Molly the chance to take one of the many secret door down to the basement.
Quickly, the guards jumped up and pointed there wands at the Stebbins Harry called
"IHANFOR!"
Bravely, Edie who ran up from the basement and just in time pushed the Stebbins away from the force of the curse and yelled
"Shabea!"
All the the guards collapsed onto the floor. This was a very dark spell which like the fairytales sent the guards to sleep. But no way to awaken. What Edie didn't notice however was that Harry and a few other apparated therefore being completely unharmed.
"Get... To... The..... Basement......NOW!" Gasped Mrs Stebbins clutching Mr Stebbins arm who was patting her arm reassuringly.
Edie didn't need to be told twice she stepped over the bodies shuddering and took the same door Pamela and Molly went through shaken and scared.
When they all reached the bottom step, everyone came running overwhelmed with questions.
"What happened?"
"Are the guards gone?"
"Are we staying?"
Mrs Stebbins although weary hadn't lost her voice and yelled
"SHUT UP!"
A silence fell upon them all.
"Thank you." Stebbins sighed "Now you see that slightly sticky out brick to Gladys left? Press it down and take the doorway. We're going to Lucius and Cissys house."
Gladys who was closest pressed the brick down and the bricks slowly faded leaving an arched path in it's downfall. Silently, they followed Gladys through the tunnel the Stebbins going last checking there was no sign of anyone being there. After 10 minutes of walking they found a huge cauldron filled with a greenish, rather gooey liquid.
"I ain't drinking that muck!" Exclaimed Vicky as Gladys began pouring into cups.
"I heard that!" Called Mr Stebbins from the back. "You have to drink it idiot or do you want to walk 5 miles without magical help?"
Sulkily, Vicky accepted the cup ungraciously and took the littlest sip before gagging dramatically. Nobody else complained just drank valiantly. Vicky didn't realize what a scene she was making .Then slowly all of the girls rose into the air squealing with excitement and fear. Vicky however obviously had a bad influence on the magic because she rose so high into the air she banged her head on the ceiling! Nobody felt bad. After 3 hours of flying effortlessly through the damp tunnel Pamela fell to the floor. She didnt drink all of the potion like she should have and fell like a rock in water. As the tunnel was constructed of rock and she had no way to stop herself she was knocked out cold. Quickly, Edie and Gladys flew down and grabbed Pamela from under her armpits and with a little turn they disappeared into the air. Everyone of course was panicking so the plan was deserted and the Stebbins took a few children at once and disappeared just like Pamela Edie and Gladys. Molly was one of the last to be taken which didn't exactly delight her. She found the tunnel after Pamela's fall disturbing and all she wanted was to get out of there. Martha appeared first holding Molly and Vicky's hand who was also one of the last ones. With a lurch, Martha Molly and Vicky were gone.
