In merkstave, it means death & hardship. Use Naudiz in sacrifice rituals for protection. The runes after Naudiz would portray the ritual outcome.
Isa & Jera
The mundane meaning of Isa is ice. The magical meaning is a delay, challenge, obstruction, & stagnation. It is common to write this rune in a negative setting & can be used to deliver a warning. Isa has no merkstave & instead is helpful to caution others while having a clear mind & is knowledgeable. The mundane meaning of Jera is harvest of seasons & of life & death cycles. The mundane meaning of Algiz is elk. The magical meaning is protection & guardianship. In merkstave, it means trouble & danger. Algiz is used to protect spell castors or property. Algiz & Sowilo is used together for protection & strengthen victory. The mundane meaning of Sowilo is sun. The magical meaning is power, good health, masculinity, & victory. In merkstave, it means darkness & defeat. Use Sowilo to strengthen spells & potions, as well as spells in Charms & Transfiguration.
