It's A Different Kind of Like (A Blackinnon Fanfiction)

written by Jui Weasley

Whoo! It's been a mouthful for the Marauders, navigating throughout their journey. They battle life, love, and just a little sprinkle of magic here and there. All credits go to JK Rowling except for my own characters. (Please keep in mind that I do not support her views on the LGBTQIA+ community- I'm part of that community myself!)

Just Another Day as an Escaped Student

Chapter 9

"Burpy, we should go back, it's getting kinda tiring just sitting out here," sighed Marlene. "I haven't taken a bath in two days and my hair's a mess."

Padfoot exhaled with his smelly doggy breath. He agreed. But something about going back to his friends just seemed- weird. He and Marlene had developed a good friendship. But if Marlene ever found out about his- furry little issue... she would go ballistic and try to ignore the fact that they had ever been friends. And Padfoot didn't deny that he had started to think Marlene was a very nice person and friend. He really didn't want to lose that friend.

"Seriously, Burpy," said Marlene again. "We gotta go."

Padfoot sighed and tried to convey a message with his eyes to Marlene. I mean... Can we leave tonight at least?

Marlene somehow decoded this. "Well... I guess we can leave tonight... No one'll be around to see us."

Padfoot made a little quiet arf.

Marlene took this as a yes.

Meanwhile at the castle...

"My lord, Potter, can't you just be serious for a second?" groaned Lily.

James giggled a little. "Serious- hehe- She means Sirius-ha-"

"Potter, you shut up right now or I punch your intestines up into your guts."

Remus and Alice were sitting on a nearby bench.

"When will the arguing stop?" Remus sighed.

"Probably never," said Alice serenely. "I bet they'll still be like that when they're married. Don't you think?"

Remus looked at her. "Hmm. I never really thought of that. You really think two people who argue so much fall in love?"

Alice shrugged. "I know many people who loved like that. My grandparents used to hate each other when they were kids, apparently."

Remus smiled. "Do you think we're going to find them in this chaos?"

Alice didn't answer immediately. She thought for a second. "Maybe... I think they're gonna come back soon. We won't have to find them at all. Maybe."

"I never thought I'd miss that idiot," said Remus. "He was a jerk, but he's OUR jerk."

Alice laughed, a rare occurance that sounded like a young orangutan giggling with her friends. "Same goes with Marlene. She's a wonderful person- but very impulsive and kinda violent at times, if I had to be completely honest. But we all still love her, don't we?" Alice mused. "I really can't believe two enemies would go gallivanting off like that together, though."

"Maybe it's just like you said just now," smiled Remus. "Enemies tend to fall in live really quite often- don't you agree?"

And Alice nodded. And they just watched the events of the world go by in slow motion, taking in everything together.

A/N: YAYYYYYYY I really can't believe this- about 500 reads? You guys are AWESOME! I love you all so so much and thanks again for all the reads! I'll probably be writing the next chapter this Sunday if I have time. See you guys later!
