It's A Different Kind of Like (A Blackinnon Fanfiction)
Whoo! It's been a mouthful for the Marauders, navigating throughout their journey. They battle life, love, and just a little sprinkle of magic here and there. All credits go to JK Rowling except for my own characters. (Please keep in mind that I do not support her views on the LGBTQIA+ community- I'm part of that community myself!)

Burp Master
Chapter 5
Sirius- or rather- Padfoot- was sitting on Marlene's bed as she gave him a sandwich to eat.
"So I guess I should call you something other than dog," said Marlene. "Maybe... Pig. You sure eat like a pig, anyways."
Marlene tried to comb her messy bunch of hair.
Padfoot gave her a look. Marlene didn't see this, as she was reaching for a music box on a high shelf with her spindly fingers.
When she finally saw Padfoot's look, she said, "Ok, ok, so maybe not Pig... Doggo? Burp Master?"
Padfoot nodded frantically when she said 'Burp Master'.
Marlene smirked. "Looks like Black taught you well. I didn't think dogs could nod."
She turned her attention to the music box in her hand and unlocked it. Inside was a vanilla cookie and some other random snacks.
Marlene broke the cookie in half and handed the half the Padfoot who gobbled it up quickly.
Putting the other half into the music box again and locking it tight, she sat down on her chair.
Geezaloo, thought Padfoot. I didn't think this McKinnon character could get any weirder. Who puts food in music boxes?
Marlene stared at the dog. "So Burpy. You know where Black is?"
Padfoot ignored her.
Marlene smirked again. "Like I said, Black taught you well. Where is he? I wanna teach him a lesson by hexing him into oblivion."
That night, Marlene pulled Padfoot under the covers with her. She couldn't risk anyone hearing him. The school was strictly against having dogs. They were loud, clumsy, and took up all the space in the dorms. And if Lily, the huge rule-abider, heard about her having a dog in their dorm, she would get- well- she would get the way Lily normally gets. Alice wouldn't mind, she would just be a little dissapointed that she didn't have a dog too.
When Marlene heard familiar footsteps enter the dorm, she knew Lily was up and looking for her.
"Mar?" she called out. "You in here?"
Marlene knew there was only one choice. She hated it. But she had to do it.
"I'm here, Lils!" she said. Padfoot's eyes widened. Was she gonna sell him out?
But of course she didn't.
"Lils, listen, please don't open the curtains on my bed, 'kay? I think I'm coming down with the cold and flu. I don't want you getting sick too." Marlene added a tiny throat clearing and a little cough in the middle of her words too... for dramatic effect.
"Ok, Marlene. Anything I can get you? Want me to call Madam Pomfrey?" asked Alice in a concerned tone.
Marlene hadn't known she was there too. Sometimes her footsteps sounded so quiet.
"I don't need anything, Al, I'll get it myself. Just tell the professors that I'm out sick for a while, ok?" Marlene sniffled for dramatic emphasis again.
"Of course, Mar," said Lily gently. "Just holler if you need anything."
A/N: whooooooo! Thanks for all these reads! I nearly fell off my chair when I saw. Tbh i fall off my chair a lot...
What do you guys think's gonna happen next? Hopefully Padfoot won't get her in trouble... or maybe he will... who knows? On another note, I will be releasing a new book- geez, I'm obsessed- and it's gonna be released on a very special date! If you want, you can owl me your guess of what you think the date is. If any of you get it right, I'll be putting a special 'gift' into the new book.
