It's A Different Kind of Like (A Blackinnon Fanfiction)

written by Jui Weasley

Whoo! It's been a mouthful for the Marauders, navigating throughout their journey. They battle life, love, and just a little sprinkle of magic here and there. All credits go to JK Rowling except for my own characters. (Please keep in mind that I do not support her views on the LGBTQIA+ community- I'm part of that community myself!)

We Go On A Wondrous Journey

Chapter 17

"Wow," said Marlene, skipping beside Sirius. "I expected to go to Hogsmeade, but this was WAY better."

"I know, right?" Sirius let out a small burp.

Marlene snorted. "We definitely ate a lot."

"We did."

Both Marlene and Sirius absentmindedly swung their arms as they walked across the corridor.

Marlene randomly jumped every now and then and danced a little.

Sirius smiled. "You're always so..." He tried to find the right word.

"Socially awkward? Annoying? Weird?" Marlene suggested as she kept pirouetting across the hallway.

"Optimistic," said Sirius. "And yes, also very weird."

"Aw, thank you," said Marlene, laughing at the 'weird' part.

Sirius led her up a bunch of staircases until they reached...

"The Astronomy Tower?" Marlene sounded surprised, but also grateful. She loved watching the stars at night.

"I thought you might like it."

"I love it!" Marlene smiled as she looked up around the dark night sky. They'd been having fun in the kitchens for so long that it was already evening.

"Come on, let's sit down," Sirius said and gestured to the ground. "Stragulum Facere." A blanket floated out of his wand, landing on the dirty ground of the old tower.

Marlene smiled again. This might have been the best day of her life. "I love watching the stars," she said to Sirius. "Thanks for bringing me here."

"No problem," Sirius said. "Wait- unless you wanna go to the Great Hall for dinner or something- Merlin, I didn't think this through-"

"Stop stressing, Sirius, it's fine." Marlene laughed. "Those pastries'll probably fill my stomach for the the next two days."

Sirius relaxed a little. There was something soothing about her voice that made him... happy.

They sat in silence for a while, just stargazing.

Then Marlene sighed. "This is wonderful. Thank you so much, Sirius. I needed a break from life."

She turned to look at Sirius, who in turn, looked at her.

Something swift was exchanged between them through just their eyes.

Sirius leaned his head in slightly.

So did Marlene.

And then their lips connected.
