It's A Different Kind of Like (A Blackinnon Fanfiction)
Whoo! It's been a mouthful for the Marauders, navigating throughout their journey. They battle life, love, and just a little sprinkle of magic here and there. All credits go to JK Rowling except for my own characters. (Please keep in mind that I do not support her views on the LGBTQIA+ community- I'm part of that community myself!)

This Is One Of Those Good Times To EAT
Chapter 16
Marlene skipped down the stairs from her dormitory and jumped onto the fluffy carpet in the common room.
Sirius was sitting on one of the couches, attempting to learn how to whistle.
Marlene cleared her throat quietly to get his attention.
Sirius didn't hear.
She cleared her throat louder.
He still didn't hear.
Marlene litrally belted out her throat-clearing noise this time.
Sirius was definitely just faking not hearing her.
"CUT THE ACT SIRIUS-"
Sirius snorted. "I know, I know, everyone, I'm hilarious."
"No, you aren't," sighed Marlene. "Are we going?" She brushed back a long strand of her dirty blonde hair.
"Yup." Sirius squinted at her, trying not to notice how puffy and pretty her hair looked today. "Didn't expect you to be ready so quickly. Some of the girls I've been on dates with literally took HOURS."
Marlene shrugged. "Combing my hair makes it feel weird and unnatural. And putting on makeup just makes me feel like someone stuck a sticky mask on my face."
"Hmm." She definitely wasn't like any of those other girls he knew. "Come on, let's go."
They walked out of the common room.
As the two walked in silence, Marlene finally spoke up.
"I know we're going to Hogsmeade, but how?"
"You'll see."
Sirius stopped in front of a large painting of a fruit bowl.
He stretched out a finger and tickled a green pear, making it giggle and squirm.
The pear morphed into a green handle, and Sirius opened the painting/door/unknown place which looked awesome so far.
Marlene gasped. "It's- it's- food."
They were standing in the Hogwarts kitchens. It was completely empty and silent except for them and huge piles of food everywhere.
"I had the house elves go take a break for a while," said Sirius. "They've been working too hard lately."
Marlene smiled at his kindness.
Sirius gestured for her to sit at a small table in the corner, but Marlene preferred the fluffy carpet and sat there with her legs crossed.
Sirius sat down with her and pulled out a large bag of pastries from his pocket.
"I have apple turnovers, cinnamon rolls, cream cheese danishes, strud-" listed Sirius before he saw Marlene looking at the pastries with evident delight and hunger.
"Go ahead," Sirius said with a smile.
Marlene picked up a cinnamon roll. She didn't bite into it, however. She licked all the frosting off and unrolled the entire roll to eat it like a Fruit By The Foot.
Sirius' jaw dropped. "And here I was thinking I was the only one who ate it like that."
Marlene laughed with her mouth full of cinnamon roll. "I know, right?"
Sirius picked up an apple turnover and started to eat it.
"Did you buy these or something?" asked Marlene. "'Cause they taste warm and homemade."
"They are," said Sirius proudly. "I made them all by myself."
Marlene snorted. "You sound like a 5-year old who just learnt how to make a house out of Legos."
"What's Lego?"
Marlene's eyes widened. "I really need to show you the wonders of the Muggle world."
"You do," laughed Sirius.
They continued laughing and eating the pastries till the whole bag was finished.
"Whoo," said Marlene. "I'm packed."
"Same," said Sirius with a small burp."
Marlene laughed at the burp. "I can burp louder than that."
Sirius raised an eyebrow. "Oh, really? You're on."
They had a burping contest, and of course, Marlene won.
"Hah!" she said triumphantly. "I am the burp master!"
Sirius looked at her, still laughing. "You mean I'M the burp master."
Marlene got the joke. "Yes, you over-energetic dog, I hereby name you Burpy."
They laughed and laughed till it was nearing sunset.
Sirius packed up his Ziploc which had been filled with pastries (notice the past tense).
"Come on," said Sirius. "There's one last thing I wanna show you. You ready to go?"
Marlene smiled widely, her puffy hair bouncing around her shoulders. "I have a stomach filled with burps and pastries. I'm VERY ready."
