Chapter 14
Remus and Alice were sitting in the library, reading their copies of Herbology 101 and checking each other's homework to see if they had the right answers.
"Ahh," whispered Marlene from behind a bookcase. "My OTP. Sirius, take a photo."
"On it." Sirius fiddled with the camera.
Marlene watched him do this for a while and got impatient. "Oh, give it here!" She snatched it out of his hands and held it up to Alice and Remus. Marlene clicked a button on the bottom of the camera and put it in her pocket with a smile. "Adorkable. Simply adorable." She looked proud of herself for some reason.
Sirius snorted and gestured to exit the library.
When they left, Marlene was deliberately jumping across the hallway. Sirius watched her in amusement.
"What are you even doing?" He smirked.
Marlene stopped and squinted at Sirius. "I'm being HAPPY."
"Ok, chill, you sound like a child."
"I am a child."
"True dat."
They walked back to their common room in silence, until Sirius spoke up.
"Hey Marlene?"
"Mm?"
"You wanna go to Hogsmeade or something sometime?"
Marlene was not a romantic. She never blushed or kissed anyone, exempting her mom when she was 6.
But Marlene blushed furiously at this. She shrugged to make it seem less suspicious. "I guess. When's our next Hogsmeade trip?"
"We can go any time."
"No, I mean, when's our next-"
"No, I get what you mean," cut in Sirius. "But I know how to go any time. If you'd like."
Marlene tilted her head slightly. "How-"
"I have my ways," said Sirius mysteriously, but not enough to fool Marlene.
"It's the map, isn't it?"
"..."
"..."
"Yeah, it's the map."
They went into the common room and Marlene and Sirius waved bye to each other as they went up their separate dormitories.
Before Marlene went up, she turned back to him. "See ya soon, then." Then she went forward and pecked him on the cheek.
Marlene zipped up the stairs to avoid anyone seeing her.
Sirius blushed. "Oh geez," he sighed. "What have a gotten myself into?"
