Chapter 14

The boys turned to look at me “Why are you so quiet?” Mattheo asked “Your usually so loud”

I didn’t reply, I just looked down. Thomas came over to me and crouched down in front of me “What’s wrong?” He asked

All the memories in my head had come rushing back “The bracelet” I stated quietly “the memories” I looked up at Thomas with tears in my eyes. He offered his hand to me and I took it as he pulled me up. I looked at the ground then back up at him “I need to go” I turned and quickly left.

(Thomas’s pov)

Mattheo tried to follow her but I stopped him “Give her alone time”

“I trying to make sure she doesn't do anything bad” he argued “And making sure Malachi and Emerson don’t find her again”

“They wouldn’t go by her again today. Besides, you have class, let me deal with her” I put my hand down and Mattheo looked at Theodore then they both left.

I looked through the hallways then went to her dorm where I found her lying on the balcony. She had passed out. There was blood on her hands and nose and a cut across her shoulder. I noticed a bracelet was around her wrist. I had never seen her wear it before and it looked awfully similar to the ones that limit your magic. I asked Mattheo to come here while I carried her inside and put her on her bed and healed her shoulder, nose, and cleaned the blood up. Mattheo appeared. He looked at Y/n “I wanted to make sure this didn’t happen and you stopped me” He started. His tone softened “What happened?”

“I don’t know, I found her lying on the balcony. I think the bracelet she’s wearing is stopping her from using magic and somehow she has her memories back. I tried to take the bracelet off but it wouldn’t budge” I explained “It looked like she had been in a fight or something, her nose was bleeding, she had a cut on her shoulder, and there was blood on her hands”

Mattheo went over to her and tried to take off the bracelet. He had no luck getting it off. “Do you think Emerson put it on her?” He asked

“Yes, I think that he did”

Mattheo clenched his fists and his eyes were turning crimson “I’m going to kill them” He muttered under his breath

“You might be able to kill Emerson but probably not Malachi”

He rolled his eyes “I could kill them both. Easily.”

I heard a noise and looked towards Y/n whose eyes were fluttering open “What happened?” She asked

“You should be the one telling us” Mattheo raised his eyebrows “What happened after you left the astronomy tower?”

She blinked a couple of times and looked around the room, as if she was confused. “I don’t remember” She stated slowly then shook her head “Why don’t I remember?” She whispered to herself

“You want to go get lunch?” Mattheo asked

“Uhh… sure”

(Y/n’s pov)

Theodore was talking to Enzo when we got there and we joined them. Thomas had gone to do something. I sat next to Theodore and started talking to him. Suddenly someone called out to me “Hey Y/n” Malachi called out “Why are you sitting here?”

I glanced at him “Because I wanted to talk to Theodore” I said as if it was obvious then I rolled my eyes.

After lunch I didn’t want to go to classes, what was the point if I couldn’t do magic? I headed back up to my dorm and grabbed a bottle of firewhisky and opened it out on my balcony. I was just about to take a sip when it was snached away “Ah ah ah, now's not the time to be drinking” Mattheo’s voice came from beside me.

I turned to face him “Well why not?”

“Just because”

“Well ‘just because’ is not a very good reason” I snached it back then walked to the other side of the balcony and took a drink

“What specifically is making you feel like this?”

I looked up from the ground and over to Mattheo “I’m powerless” I replied holding up my wrist with the bracelet “and it makes me feel so angry… and weak”

“Well you rely on your powers a lot, without them you literally feel powerless”

“No, not like that” I was sore and it felt like there was a pit in my stomach, I felt more tired than usual “I physically feel weak” I stumbled to the wall and put my weight against it then I started sliding down the wall until I was on the ground.
