(Still Mattheo’s pov) 

“True” I took another drink “But me, my family, is so deep into the darkness. I just keep getting pulled deeper and deeper into the darkness” 

“Like I said, darkness has an irresistible allure, before you know it your drenched in it, stuck deep in it” 

“How do you know so much about it, you never talk much about your past other than your parents, which you don’t even talk much about” 

He looked down “Before we met, I was… different. I- let’s just say my life before Hogwarts wasn’t great” 

“What happened?” 

“After my mother died, I pretty much shut the world out because I wanted- I needed to blame someone, something… so I blamed the world” He smiled slightly “I blamed my father, and he blamed me. I picked fights with random people who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time” He shook his head slightly 

“First year you seemed like that, but then after that you got quieter, what happened?” 

“I killed someone” He paused for a second “A girl, she was the only friend I had away from Hogwarts, I didn’t mean to kill her, I just got so angry at her. Now I live every day remembering her, and making sure I don’t get that angry again. I would hate myself if I killed you, or your brother, or…” 

“Y/n” I finished 

“Yeah” He looked away 

“Hey it’s ok” I put my hand on his shoulder 

I heard footsteps from behind me, I turned to see Y/n “What are you boys talking about?” 

“Darkness and stuff” I replied 

“That’s… interesting, but a tad boring” 

“Y/n, are you ok?” 

“Yeah, never been better” She smiled and tilted her head “Though you look like you’ve had better days”  

I shook my head, I really wanted to punch her right now but I couldn't “What’s stopping you?” She asked, reading my mind 

“Stop reading my mind” 

She came closer to me “You're supposed to be stronger than this” She whispered into my ear. She turned to go back into her room but I caught her wrist. 

 I looked into her eyes “And you're supposed to be… different” I let her wrist go and left

(y/n’s pov)

Mattheo left, leaving me alone with Theo. I looked at him, it almost looked like he had been crying but he looked fine now. Theo looked up at me “You probably made him really mad” He commented 

“Is there a problem with that?” 

“He has a lot on his mind” 

“And I don’t?” 

“No-”

“It doesn’t matter, I’m going for a walk” I declared 

“Can I join you?” He asked 

“Sure, if you want, just don’t annoy me”

We left my dorm and started walking down the hallways. I suddenly started hearing the voice again Danger Danger Danger It rang in my ears. I tried to make it stop but I couldn’t, it was so so so so loud that I could barely hear Theo calling my name. I collapsed into his arms and he pulled me over to the wall. 

(Theodore’s pov)

A couple seconds later she grabbed my wrist and she apparated us somewhere I didn’t recognize though it had to be part of the school. She started pulling me down the hallway but then four boys appeared in front of us. Two of them came for me then grabbed me and pinned me to the wall. Two had grabbed Y/n and pulled her to the wall, she tried to escape them but I could see them put a bracelet on her that probably restricted her powers. A girl appeared a couple feet away from Y/n “What do you want with her?” I shouted and the girl looked at me.

“I want her to forget you” She turned to face Y/n “So you have a choice, you can either kill him and your brother or you can forget them. It’s your choice Y/n closed her eyes and a second later Thomas and Mattheo appeared. The girl glanced at them then quickly waved her wand at Y/n a couple times. The four guys and the girl disappeared as Y/n fell to the ground and went limp. 

Thomas went to her and Mattheo looked at me “You ok Theo?”

“Yep, I’m fine” I replied “Do you link Y/n is going to be ok?” 

“I don’t know,” Thomas replied, still next to Y/n. We took Y/n to her dorm and Mattheo and I went out on the balcony while Thomas was inside pacing. After a little bit Mattheo and I left, Mattheo needed to clear his mind. 

(Thomas’s pov)

I leaned against the wall and waited for Y/n to wake up. An hour later she opened her eyes. She glanced at me and sat up “Who are you, and why are you in my room?”
