Prologue

Chapter 1

A 13 year old girl laid on her bed, staring blankly up at the ceiling that was spelled to look like the night sky. She suddenly pushed up off the bed and headed over to her bookshelf, the old floorboards creaking with each step. She ran her finger along the spines of the books until she found the book she needed. She pulled it off the shelf and headed back to her bed. She quickly flipped through the pages then read the small passage on the page. The book levitated into the air then slammed shut and fell back on the bed. She grabbed a bottle that was on her nightstand and started pacing around the room, drinking. She finished it just as someone opened the door. She threw the bottle at them, not turning around to see who it was. She wanted to be alone right now, her eyes were crimson. “Get out” She commanded and when they didn’t move she turned around to see a boy with dark hazel eyes and curly brown hair “I said get out”

The boy tilted his head “What’s wrong?” He asked

“Something that you can’t help with, so leave” She replied coldly

“You're drinking again, I deserve to know what's up” He waved the bottle in his hand that had gotten thrown at him. She rolled her eyes and turned away from him. The boy’s eyes glowed then a second later another boy appeared. He was taller and had dark brown eyes.

“Y/n?” He asked

“What brother?” She asked, annoyed

“Are you feeling ok?”

“I’m feeling like I want to be alone right now, shouldn’t you be with father right now?”

“He’s busy doing other things and doesn't need me”

She thought for a couple of seconds then decided “I will talk… but only to Thomas”

“Why am I always left out?” The shorter one asked

“Mattheo leave, please” The other boy asked politely. He left and closed the door then the girl turned to face Thomas “So what's wrong?”

“It’s my mind, my feelings, emotions, everything, it’s all over the place and I feel like I’m not in control of them anymore. I’ve been getting more and more nightmares and I -I just don’t know what to do”

“Y/n, everything will be ok, just give it time”

“No, no nothing will ever be ok, something always has to be wrong, out of place. There is always something wrong with me”

“You are my sister, the best sister I could ever ask for, so listen to me, you will get through this and you will be fine, trust me”

“But what if it doesn't?”

“I promise, it will”
