Chapter 9

Once I had finished with the JV schedule, I turned to the Varsity team. I was surpised at the amount of Slytherins I had chosen. I bet that they probably will not want to work with a Hufflepuff first year, but we will see.

As I read out the list to myself, I wondered, why on Merlin's beard did I choose thirteen students?

Nina Jenkins, Gryffindor, 15, 5th year. Owl

Natalie Hopkins, Gryffindor, 16, 5th year. In person.

Pauline Saxby, Gryffindor, 15, 5th year. Owl.

Oona Barnes, Gryffindor, 16, 6th year. Owl.

Artemisia Abbott, Hufflepuff, 17, 6th year. In person.

Adrian Tate, Hufflepuff, 17, 7th year. In person.

Yvonne Belby, Ravenclaw, 18, 7th year. Owl.

Arman Wroxton, Ravenclaw, 18, 7th year. Owl.

Agnes Morris, Slytherin, 15, 5th year. Owl.

Bridget Morcott, Slytherin, 16, 6th year. In person.

Adelaide Higgs, Slytherin , 18, 7th year. Owl.

Lucinda Duffield, Slytherin, 17, 7th year. Owl.

Caroline Denholm, Slytherin, 17, 6th year. In person.

I sighed once I was done. Now all I had to do was make an extra of each schedule for myself and in case anyone lost theirs, then send them all.

I went to the Owlry and found my owl, Coconut. A fitting name for a white owl, and a delicious fruit in the Muggleworld. Looking at the many people who asked for me to owl their schedule to them, I decided to use their own owls to send these schedules.

Once all the owls had taken flight, I set off to deliever all the schedules few asked for on foot.

I returned to my room exhausted.

"Well, if it isn't Miss Dance Captain." A voice spoke up. I whipped around to find Amelia walking into my room.

"Hey, Amelia! What are you doing here?" I greeted.

"I heard from a little birdie that you are over your head in work for this club." She smiled as she took a seat on my bed with me.

"Well, it is a lot of work but I think I will be able to manage. I've sent all the schedules already." I said.

"Oh, can I see them? JV and Varsity teams? What's the difference?" Amelia asked after looking over them.

"JV is for younger students and Varsity is for older and more trained students." I answered.

"Well, you look like you are getting off to a good start. But practice almost every day? Don't you think that's too much?"

"I'm going to check with Professor McGonagall, but I believe our first competition is in two months. And I need all the time I can get to get everyone ready." I said.

A slience fell between us, until Ameila spoke up again.

"You do know that your Varsity team will need time to study for their O.W.L.s and N.E.W.T.s, right?"

"Yeah, I know. That's why I scheduled only two hour practices for them. Normally I would say three hours is best but I understand they need to study."

Another slience fell between us. We sat there for several minutes before Ameila stood up.

"I guess I'll be going now. But if you ever need any help, I'm here. Heck, all the Hufflepuffs can help you." She left with a smile.

I sighed before finally falling asleep. These next few weeks will be busy.
