(Still Mattheo’s pov) 

I called Thomas in my mind to tell him what was going on and a couple seconds later he appeared at my side. Y/n looked at him and her eyes started flicking “Theodore, you might want to leave” Thomas suggested but it was too late, her eyes were now pure black. She waved her hand and I got thrown into a wall then everything went black. 

(Theodore’s pov) 

With a wave of her hand Thomas and Mattheo were thrown to the walls and they looked like they were passed out. I looked back at Y/n, her eyes were black. She smiled at me then walked over to Mattheo and pulled something out of his pocket. It took me a second to realize it was a cigarette. She lit it then put it in between her lips and walked over to me. She blew smoke in my direction then passed me and leaned against the railing. Her hair was blowing in the wind. 

“Why did you hurt them and not me?” I asked 

She turned to face me “You have never hurt me like they have, I have no reason to. Plus your not annoying most of the time” 

“What is going on Y/n?” 

“Nothing, my powers are just getting more powerful, that's all” 

“But your smoking, you never smoke, you don’t like it” 

“But you were right, it’s calming and right now that's all I need right now. It helps me forget about my nightmares” 

“Are you having nightmares?” I asked

“Yes, I had two last night” 

“Oh, I’m sorry”

“Don’t be, your not causing them nor are you in them” 

“What are you going to do now?” 

“I don’t know, but what you can do is leave” 

(Y/n’s pov) 

I saw him leave then I turned to face the castle grounds. A couple minutes later I felt some behind me. I waved my hand and turned around to find Thomas stuck, floating in the air. I smiled “Brothers” I turned back around and Mattheo was standing behind me and he put his wand to my neck “What are you going to do” I asked tilting my head

(Mattheo’s pov)

I looked into her eyes “Nothing” I replied putting my wand down. Her eyes started flicking again and she put her hands up to her head. She looked at both of us and smiled. Then I heard a faint voice in my head, Y/n’s voice, but I could tell it was the normal Y/n who was trapped in her own body. Help Was all I heard, over and over again. She went to the railing and jumped off the tower. Thomas disappeared and I looked over the railing to see her falling. Then Thomas got her before she hit the ground and appareted back up to me. Y/n’s eyes were closed then she started to blink and her eyes opened, they were back to hazil. 

Thomas let her down and she looked and both of us “Thank you, for always saving me” 

“How did you communicate with us when she was in control?” 

“I don’t know, I just tried to call out and hoped one of you could hear me, I could see everything I did this time” She shook her head “my nightmares are haunting me, day and night, I never can seem to get out of them”

It was almost New Year's day. Tomorrow was New Year's eve. Y/n hadn't slept since the day after Christmas, she kept getting nightmares. Now she was tired, really tired. “You should get some sleep tonight” Thomas suggested 

“I will have nightmares again” She replied in a flat tone. 

“You're going to have to sleep eventually,” I commented

(Y/n’s pov)

I was really tired, but I didn’t want to have any more nightmares. I got up and left the Great Hall and headed to my dorm. I drank some firewhisky that I had gotten from Theodore and read on my bed. 

Sleep overcame me and I was suddenly running in the forest again. The trees whipped past me as I ran away from the animal coming after me. I tripped and fell then vines came out of the ground and wrapped around my arms and legs, pinning me down, making it unable to move. The animal came closer and I saw it, it was a werewolf. It howled then ran away and something else started walking towards me. They looked human but I couldn’t tell. They took out a knife and cut me. They didn’t cut that deep but there was still a lot of blood. I suddenly woke up and there was blood on my shirt. I went to the bathroom and saw a couple cuts on my face, then my neck and arms, then I lifted my shirt up to see there was some on my stomach. There was a lot more than I was used to. It made me feel sick, it made me want to throw up. apparated to my brother's dorm. Mattheo was awake and he came over to me. He saw the blood “Did you do this to yourself?” He whispered

“No, no I didn't” but before I could explain I fainted

I woke up and felt something warm on my arm, I looked to see Mattheo healing all the cuts. He smiled at me “You ok?” 

“Yeah” 

“You're up” Thomas commented coming out of the bathroom. Mattheo must have woken him up “Care to explain what happened?” 

I told them about the nightmare and how when I got up I saw blood so I went to the bathroom and saw all the blood then I came here. 

“I have never heard of anything like that happening unless someone actually came into your room while you were sleeping” Thomas tried to figure it out. 

“Yeah, I have never heard of anything like this” Mattheo added “You can spend the rest of the night or I guess morning here if you want?” 

“No, I want to go get some fresh air” 

I apparated to the astronomy tower. No one else was there. I sat down and leaned against the wall, staring up at the stars. 

I heard a voice then someone touched me. I opened my eyes to see Theo beside me “Did you fall asleep up here?” He asked

“Um… yeah, I guess I did, I haven't been really sleepy lately so…” I shrugged 

“Why haven't you been sleeping?” 

“Nightmares” I replied

“Did you cut yourself last night? you have more scars” 

“No, I didn’t, it’s hard to explain”

“Is someone hurting you?” 

“Yes and no. In my nightmare I got cut then when I woke up I had the same cuts” I explained 

“How long have you been having nightmares?” He asked “If I can ask that, I don’t want to be rude” 

“I have had them on and off all year but they have been more frequent since the winter dance” 

The day passed by slowly until it was just 3 hours before the party. I showered then brushed my hair into a high ponytail, got into a black, long sleeve shirt, green, knee length, loose skirt, and put my black, heeled boots. I did my makeup in neutral colors then added some glitter. I apparated to my brother’s dorm and sat on my bed. Thomas had to go somewhere but would be here later, Mattheo was in the bathroom and didn’t know I was here yet. He walked out of the bathroom without a shirt on and his eyes landed on me. “Hey Mattheo” 

“I thought you didn’t like seeing boys shirtless?” 

“Your my brother, not some random boy who I just met” 

“Are you calling Theo a random boy?”

“No, but I had only met him that year plus there was blood everywhere that I didn’t want to see” 

“What about now, would you close your eyes if he walked in here shirtless now?”

“Why are we even talking about this?” I asked

“You deflected the question” 

“Would I want to see him without a shirt on? No, I have no desire to see him shirtless” I shook my head.

He finished getting ready then we went downstairs to the common room together.
