(Part 2) 

It was now December and the dance was days away. I sent Indu a letter wishing her an early happy holiday and then sent along a small gift. Thomas was going to be out all week doing something for father so he was going to miss the dance. Mattheo had been asked by the new girl and he had accepted so I couldn’t go with him. If I didn’t get anyone I was planning on not going but now I wanted to go just to see Mattheo with the girl. I didn’t want to go alone though.

At lunch I sat next to Olivia because Mattheo was sitting with the “New” girl, she wasn’t really new anymore but I still called her that. “So Olivia, are you going to the dance with the same person from last year?”

“Yeah, what about you? Are you going with your brother again?” 

“Um… no, he got asked”

“He got asked… by who?”

“I don’t know, she's a slytherin who was new this year” 

“Zoe? Wavy black hair, blue eyes?”

“Uhh yeah, that's her name?”

“Yeah, she’s keeps to herself mostly but I talked to her once, she’s into art” 

“I see” 

After all my classes ended for the day I headed up to astronomy tower, I wasn’t hungry for dinner. Of course Theo was there, he was leading against the wall. He was not smoking tho. He looked over at me and I headed over to him. 

“Are you going to the dance with your brother again?” He asked

“No, didn’t you hear, he has a date” 

“I didn’t hear, who is this person? I’m dying to know” 

“Her name is Zoe” 

“Well in that case would you like to be my date?” He asked “We can just go as friends”

I glared at him and smiled “Sure Theodore Nott, I will be your… date” I said rolling my eyes “Then we can spy on my brother” 

“Sure” He smiled 

A couple days passed until it was Saturday, the day of the dance. I slept in then went to lunch then I started getting ready. I had showered the night before.  I did my hair half up, half down. The part that was up was in a fancy bun. I did my makeup with snowy colors like light blue. 

There was a knock at the door and I went over and opened it to see Cora. “Did you take my dress?” She asked

“No, why would I do that?”

“Because that's who you are” 

“Well I didn’t take it, wait here one second” I left and went to my closet I barely ever used because I didn’t wear dresses a lot and found a dress that I never really liked but I thought Cora would like it. I brought her the dress “You can take this one if you want” I held it out for her

“Why are you giving me a dress, why are you being nice to me after all I have done and you hate me?”

“I’m giving you this because I want you to have a dress to wear tonight. And I never hated you or had anything against you until you were mean to Indu, I wanted to know you but you hated Indu, just take the dress, you can keep it after the dance” I shoved the dress into her hands and closed the door after saying goodbye then finished up my makeup. Finally I got into my outfit. The top was a white base with blue lace covering it then matching mesh sleeves. The skirt matched as well, it had a white base and then a couple layers of blue and white mesh. I then put on my boot heels then put my dagger and wand in the holster around my thigh. I apparated outside my brother's dorm and knocked on the door. Mattheo opened the door and let me come in. 

“You look very fancy” He commented “Who are you going with, or are you meeting friends?”

“A bit of both, I’m going with Theodore, as friends” I replied 

“You're going with Theo?” 

“Yes, don’t say anything”

“Wasn’t going to” 

“Oh you where, I could see it in your eyes” 

“Fine you caught me, your just making him have more of a crush on you, I mean look at you, your beautiful” 

“I’m a Riddle, were practically royalty, what do you expect” I rolled my eyes

“I bet you could make any person fall in love with you if you tried hard enuff” He claimed 

“I could, but it’s not like that I want to” 

I heard a knock on the door and Mattheo went to open it, it was Theodore. His eyes landed on me “Hello Mattheo, Y/n” He nodded at me. He’s totally crushing on you so much right now Mattheo told me. Oh be quiet, he’s right there, he knows we are talking to each other right now, he’s not dumb I rolled my eyes and Mattheo. I could see Theo looking at and questioning why we were talking through our minds. 

“Thomas was checking in with me” I lied 

“How is he?” 

“I don’t know, he was checking in on me, I wasn’t checking in on him but he seems fine, a little tired” 

“Makes sense” He replied “Well I will be in the common room when you are ready” 

“Great, I will be down in a few” I replied and Mattheo closed the door and glared at me.

“What?” I asked. He rolled his eyes. “Did you want to tell him what you were thinking?” 

“No”

“You started it, I saved you from it” I replied “Your welcome, I’m going to go now” 

“Wait, do you have your wand and dagger?” 

“Yes, I always do” 

“Ok, good” 

“Can I go now?” I asked

“Yes”

I left and made my way down to the common room. I went to Theo “Lets go” I told him. 

We walked to the Great Hall but right before we entered he stopped and held out his hand. I smiled and took it as we entered.
