A Quidditch Match, a Fall and a Unicorn
Chapter 17
"First Quidditch match in ages." Melody sighed, grabbing her broomstick.
"Yep." Dylan nodded. "Ravenclaw've been getting beaten for ages now."
"We'll beat them this time." I said confidently.
It was by far the longest match since my time at Hogwarts. After 45 minutes, each team had 100 points. Then in the distance I saw three Augureys twirling about, crying their unmistakable cry. That was strange. Augureys could only fly in rain. But less than a second after, rain began to pour down. It was very heavy, soaking the team and their brooms. Many of the people in the crowd began to conjure things for themselves and the lower years to shelter them, whilst others ran inside to grab who-knows-what. Then I saw something in the crowd. A wand moving on it's own. Wow, thanks to whoever is levitating that wand because it's not distracting me at all. Then it flicked and lightning struck my broom. I was falling, watching the sky whizz past me. I shut my eyes. Then I landed on something soft but hard at the same time. It felt like a horse and it certainly wasn't grass. When I opened my eyes, I was on the back of a beautiful white unicorn with a light gold mane. It let me slide off gently before galloping into the forest.
"Miss Blaze." McGonagall came over to me. "Do you want to stop playing?"
"No, no." I panted. "I'm fine. That unicorn saved me." I picked up my broom, which now had a tiny crack in it, mounted and shot up into the sky.
In the end, Ravenclaw ended up winning but we didn't celebrate like we normally do. There were still two mysteries- who was controlling the wand and who was the unicorn?
