The Sorting Ceremony
Chapter 8
"Adams, Leona!"
"Good luck!" I whispered.
"Thanks!" She whispered back.
She went up to the stool, trying to look confident but the whole school could see her slightly tanned face go red and sweaty. Unfortunately, I couldn't hear what the Sorting Hat was saying but in the end it shouted "RAVENCLAW!"
"Andrews, Dylan!"
Melody did a thumbs up and I whispered good luck again. By the looks of it, the Hat was debating between all four houses. A minute later it shouted "RAVENCLAW!"
A few more names.
"Baker, Melody!"
"Get the eagle!" I heard her whispering and I smiled. This one was close. The Hat shouted "H- RAVENCLAW!" and smiling, Melody joined her friends.
More names.
"Blaze, Lily!"
I sat down nervously. "Hmm.. interesting. Hufflepuff heart definitely. Could be good in Slytherin. Quite knowledgeable about nature. Not Gryffindor." I chuckled. "Yes that's it. Definitely. RAVENCLAW!"
My hands were so sweaty that I slipped off the stool and hurt my ankle but I didn't care. I was in my dream house at my dream school with dream friends. We didn't listen to the rest of the ceremony, just whispered but we either didn't get caught or the teachers were being nice. And all too soon the feast had started and ended and we were walking up the spiral stairs for bed.
"See you in the morning, Dylan!"
"See you at breakfast!"
"Night!"
"See you!"
Four hours later it was midnight and everybody was asleep, ready for a tiring and stressful but fun day of lessons.
