I woke up for no particular reason at 5:30. It was the seventeenth of December! I got out and quickly put my warm winter cloak on and looked out of the window. It was snowing! The Forbidden Forest looked strangely cheerful and Hagrid's hut had snow on its roof. Also, it was the first day of the holidays! Mum and Dad couldn't pick me up today but they would come tomorrow which meant I had a whole day with my friends!  
"Hey, Lily. Why you up so early?" Groaned Leona, rolling out of bed and going in the changing room.  
"IT'S SNOWING!" I shouted, and this woke up Melody.  
"Why are you- IT'S SNOWING!" She called and went into the changing room as soon as Leona came out.  
"Are your parents picking you up?" Came her voice. 
"Not today, but tomorrow."  
"Same." Both girls said. 
"Dylan's parents are coming today, though." Melody explained.  
"What should we do?" Asked Melody.   
"Breakfast?" Leona laughed.   
"I was going to take my breakfast up to Hagrid's." I said.  
"OK, then meet me in the Great Hall." Melody ordered.   
After breakfast, I met my friends in the Hall. Melody said she wanted to give cards to all the teachers.   
"Seriously?" Laughed Leona.  
"Yep." Melody started placing cards on all the teacher's empty plates, even Snape.  
"You're way too kind!" I laughed.  
After that we did a few festive things and, what felt like an hour later, it was half ten and we were getting ready for bed.   
"That was fun!" Melody yawned.  
"Yeah!" Leona smiled.   
"It really was." I laughed. "Night you two!" 
"Night!"  
Night!"  
"See you tomorrow!"
