Secret Death

Chapter 11

Amelia ran after Draco, she wanted to see what he was up to.

‘Draco!’ Amelia yelled.

‘What are you doing here? I thought you had that match, go back! You’ll attract attention if you follow me!’ snarled Draco.

He started to walk away.

Amelia grabbed Draco’s wrist.

‘Don’t even think about walking away!’ she said fiercely.

Draco looked at her, then removed her strong hand. He didn’t say anything and continued walking. Amelia followed him quietly. They reached the Room of Requirement. Draco closed his eyes and walked back and forth as he muttered unclear things. The door revealed itself and Draco opened it. Amelia followed him and cautiously closed the door. Draco looks more tired and pale, thought Amelia as she continued to follow Draco. He then came to a stop. He was facing a black velvet box. He opened it to reveal a necklace. It had green-blue diamonds.

‘I’d like to give this to someone… It’s got nothing to do with the mission,’ Draco said convincingly.

‘Who will you give it to?’

‘It’s a secret,’ Draco said without hesitation.

Amelia looked at him suspiciously.

‘Can you… nevermind.’

Amelia continued to glare at him.

‘The match is starting. You should go,’ Draco said as he heard Albert’s voice from outside.

‘I skipped it. Made Olivia the temporary Seeker,’ Amelia shrugged.

‘We can go to Hogsmeade today, can we?’ Draco said, ignoring what Amelia had said.

‘Yes, of course we can go today. Why are you-’

But Draco was heading to the door and opened it. He exited and left Amelia, who was surprised by his question.

‘W-wait up!’

Draco entered again, not looking at Amelia. He walked towards the broken cabinet. He had a green apple in his pale hand. Amelia watched as Draco put the apple in the cabinet. He closed it and didn’t do anything.

‘What are you doing?’ Amelia asked, confused.

Draco then opened the cabinet to reveal the apple.

‘What was the point of doing that?’

‘It was meant to be delivered to its pair in Borgin and Burkes.’

Draco looked disappointed. Amelia came closer to the cabinet and took the apple.

‘It seems like it has been delivered to Borgin and Burkes.’

Draco looked closely at the apple. Amelia turned it the other way, revealing a big bite.

‘Yes!’ Draco punched the air.

Amelia grinned.

‘Are you ever going to tell me why you wanted to fix it?’ she asked. ‘And how did you fix it?’

Draco’s smile vanished.

‘I haven't fixed it fully yet. It still has some errors.’

 Amelia glared at him.

‘Are you… doing this for the mission?’ Amelia clasped her hands to her mouth.

‘Listen…’

Draco got his wand and did a spell on her. Amelia froze for a second or two, then started moving.

‘Try saying something about the mission,’ he smirked.

Amelia opened her mouth but nothing happened.

‘YOU ARE D-’

She stamped her feet in anger.

‘Ah, it works.’

‘YOU-’

Draco left the room and closed the door behind him. Amelia looked petrified.

‘AND RAVENCLAW WINS!’ she heard Albert yell.

She sat on the floor in a ball position. She was rocking back and forth, thinking of what Draco had just done.

He doesn’t trust me. I have to do something that will get him to trust me.

Amelia then thought of what to tell Olivia and Isabell.

If Draco banned me from saying anything about him and the mission, how would they understand?

A voice in her head replied.

They don’t have to understand, because you don’t have to tell them.

Amelia stood up and started to head to the door. She made a stop. She walked towards the black velvet box and examined the necklace. She was about to touch it. She then heard a voice in her head.

Don’t touch that. It might be cursed. Don’t.

Amelia decided to trust her mind and walked away from the necklace.

‘GIVE A ROUND OF APPLAUSE TO OLIVIA DRAGONHEART!’ she heard Albert shout.

There was a chorus which made Amelia laugh slightly:

She has got the Snitch

She has got the Snitch

Ravenclaw has won!

She didn’t fall from her broom this time!

She didn’t let Summerby get the Snitch!

She didn’t hurt her leg either!

Olivia has the heart of a dragon!

And what was amusing was…

Watching Summerby get kicked!

Someone had made a high-pitched noise when the word ‘kicked’ was sung. Amelia continued laughing as she exited the Room of Requirement, forgetting about the necklace.
