Audre Lorde was a poet and an activist. She was very passionate about intersectionality (though that word was not used until after her time), and she talked a lot about racism in queer and feminist spaces, sexism in Black and queer spaces, and homophobia in feminist and Black spaces. She almost always opened her speeches with "I am a Black, lesbian, mother, warrior, poet."

Her work will forever be remembered as the entire basis of intersectionality today.
