Gregory Coyle and the ideal plan

Summer was coming to Hogwarts and the attention in classes slackened despite the teachers' many efforts. One hot afternoon in Divination, Gregory Coyle had his mind floating in the clouds. He was thinking of Daphne Greengrass. The way she looks..how kind she is, he thought dreamily and wondered if he could do something to have Daphne go out with him. Yes, that seemed like a good plan. He decided to run it over with Crabbe, Malfoy and Zabini - just in case. After all, they had lots of experience - but his thoughts were interrupted by Professor Trelwany who was shaking her head at him.

At break, Gregory managed to corner his friends and they sat talking no end. He confessed his feelings that he felt through the tiresome Divination.
“I like Daphne a lot and the ball was great with her. But…I am terrified to ask her out at least! Or, just for her to spend some time with me. Like, how am I to do that? I like her badly, but what if another boy gets her first? I am officially panicking!!” He gulped.
“Hmm, we gathered that before you told us.” Pansy said, her sarcastic tongue ready at any moment.
“Really helpful.”Gregory said grumpily but got interrupted as Draco said:
“Well, Coyle, I think you need to pluck up some courage and ask to..for her…” But Draco couldn’t finish his sentence because he was at a loss on what to say.
“Invite her for a Hogsmeade date!” Astoria suggested.
“Tell her to come to the common room in the evening and surprise her with cake!” Offered Blaise
“What’s the fuss about, anyway? Why don’t you just tell her over lunch that you love her?” Draco Shrugged. Gregory stared at all of them hopefully. Could I just do what one of them said? He asked himself and wondered if he over-thought it for once. It was Pansy that gave him an idea, however.
“Well, if it was me, I would want something romantic. And elegant. If we were to end up together, well, it would be heavenly to have a sweet moment like that to remember when you are older and perhaps even marry. If we all were adults then I would suggest a dainty meal - with lots of romantic food but seeing that we are not, I think that it should be a bit childish. I’ll tell you what to do. Approach Daphne innocently and ask her if she wants to meet in the Library to study. She would definitely say yes, she can’t say no to a treat like that. So, in the evening you pretend to be studying but then say if it would be good to go to the common room. There, you will prepare some Honeydukes sweets and even a cake. Just offer them to her and bingo!! You can comfortably ask to meet up later - for a bigger date!” She said triumphantly, her eyes gleaming with satisfaction. Gregory thought that was a good idea but couldn’t thank her as the bell rang and everyone trooped off to class. He saw that Daphne was in Herbology with him so he asked:
“Er, Daphne? Want to go to study together tonight in the Library?”He muttered, shaking and was surprised to see that he couldn’t find sweat. Daphne looked at him critically then nodded her dainty head with an accompanying smile.

The plan had worked. Gregory managed to get her safely to the common room and they were sharing some delicious Chocoballs and laughing together, that was the moment that Gregory cleared his throat.
“Daphne, I was wondering, would you date me?”he said, his eyes were pictures of hope, his hands were clutching the fudge. For a moment, she was silent. And then a nod came that made Gregory feel like the happiest boy on earth.
