Part 5: The Room of Requirement

Chapter 50

The quidditch match was drawing nearer and nearer. Olivia and Isabell had to write about eight long paragraphs about Snape being a good teacher (they also had to talk about Snape’s hair not being greasy). They totally hated the detention and were glad to have finished it.

‘WHO WOULD MAKE US HAVE SUCH A DETENTION?’ Isabell yelled.

‘Snape,’ Olivia replied simply.

‘He’s terrible!’

‘And I disagree,’ A cold voice said again, but this time the voice was a little bit different.

Isabell froze, but behind her was Olivia mocking Snape.

‘YOU FELL FOR IT!’ laughed Olivia.

Isabell looked mad, yet she laughed at Olivia’s prank.

‘I didn’t really fall for it,’ said Isabell, frowning. ‘How would Snape come into our common room?’

‘I dunno... By speaking in his cold voice,’ Olivia continued mocking Snape. ‘Detention, Mr. Potter!’

They continued laughing, just as Amelia looked at them curiously from the soft chairs by the fire. She was stroking Bianca, who was nibbling her finger affectionately. Olivia and Isabell, who were accompanied by Albert, sat by the library and started to do their Charms homework, which was to explain how to move your wand when doing the ‘Wingardium Leviosa’ charm. Because they were smart, they finished their work in about only three minutes. Albert bade them good night and headed off to his bed. The common room began to have fewer students, until Amelia, Isabell and Olivia were left. Amelia stared at them uncomfortably, while Olivia and Isabell stared back. Isabell looked mad, while Olivia looked sympathetic. Amelia had remembered she had to act mean.

‘I finished my work in only one minute! Why would you be in Ravenclaw? Oh let’s see, Isabell is in love with blue, which is the colour of Ravenclaw, while Olivia is in love with-’

‘Liar!’ said Isabell angrily. ‘SHUT IT!’

Olivia just stared at them and rushed to her bed after a while. Amelia approached Isabell, then she smiled sarcastically. Amelia went to the Dormitory after criticising Isabell. Isabell followed, ignoring Amelia. Isabell fell asleep almost right away, but Olivia was lying comfortably on her bed, and she had her book.

Is there any chance that Isabell will realise Amelia’s hard choice?

As I told you once before, The book does not tell the future, and I can’t predict, for I only answer what I know.

Will You-Know-Who rise to power?

The book does not say the future.

Can you show or tell me the conversation between the Malfoys and Amelia in St. Mungos?

Certainly.

Olivia stared at the last word, how would the book know about the conversation? Without warning, the book fell from her hands and began to glow so brightly, it lit the whole room.

‘What the-?’ but before Olivia could continue her sentence and understand what was happening, she was transported to what seemed like St. Mungos. Only everything was in black and white.

A figure was passing by, it was herself. Olivia gasped and tried to avoid herself, but she walked through her. It seemed as though the black and white Olivia couldn’t see the other Olivia.

‘What?’ Olivia said, both shocked and confused.

She tried to remember where Amelia was at the time. She failed twice, but finally managed to find her in the room. She seemed to be at the time when the Malfoys were there. She heard all of the conversation. The scene changed and Olivia was when Amelia’s eyes turned red and when she was very mean. Then everyone walked out and Mr. Malfoy and Draco came in. They began to talk with Amelia. Later, Mrs. Malfoy came in. Olivia heard every single word from the conversation. At the end of both the conversations, Olivia felt shocked and yet sad. She truly understood how Amelia felt these days. Unexpectedly, she was transported back to her bed. She was panting, her body shaking and twitching.

‘Where were you?’ Isabell whisper-shouted, as she came near Olivia’s bed to help Olivia get up.

‘I need to tell you something, right now,’ Olivia said, her eyes wide with fear.

‘O-ok,’ Isabell said, looking worried at Olivia’s expression.
