Back to Hogwarts
Chapter 47
The next day Isabell and Olivia went back to Hogwarts on the train - Hogwarts Express. They sat with Harry, Ron, Albert and Hermione. Hermione too, looked very shocked and sad. Nobody said a word, except Olivia at first explaining what had happened to Amelia. After that, silence took over the surroundings. After a few hours, at night time, the train made a stop.
They all saw Amelia hanging out with some Slytherins girls, and laughing with them. When she saw Isabell and Olivia, she made a disgusted face at them. They all just tried not to look at her and went out and approached Hogwarts. They then sat at the Ravenclaw table (Olivia, Isabell, Albert and a mean Amelia) and the Gryffindor table (Harry, Ron and Hermione).
‘What’re you looking at?’ asked Amelia viciously, when she spotted Isabell and Olivia looking at her.
‘N-nothing-’ said Isabell as she looked away and at Professor Dumbledore.
Isabell tapped her bracelet away from Amelia’s sight and she and Olivia changed seats. They both took out their enchanted books and started writing to each other. Albert looked at them in curiosity. They let him see what they were doing. Amelia glared at them.
Why do you think she would do such a thing? (Olivia)
I don’t know. As the book said: ‘She changed’… (Isabell)
The girls started writing furiously while Albert glanced at Amelia, who was frowning.
Do you think we can get the old Amelia back?
I’m not sure…
Let’s just wait and see.
Ok, anyways let’s listen to what Professor Dumbledore has to say.
‘Welcome back students! I hope you’ve had a wonderful holiday and Christmas!’ he said, smiling.
‘More like the worst holiday and Christmas,’ Olivia muttered to Isabell and Albert, who nodded sadly.
‘Your comfy beds await you, chip chip!’
All the students headed for their dormitories.
Amelia was pushing people so she could stand next to Isabell and Olivia. Olivia stared at Amelia and thought she looked sad, but when Amelia noticed she was watching, she acted mean again. She pushed them aside, making them almost fall.
‘SHE COULD HAVE KILLED US!’ Isabell shouted as she was about to attack Amelia.
Olivia raised her eyebrows.
‘You’re exaggerating.’
‘NO I AM NOT! SHE PUSHED US! WE COULD HAVE FELL!’ Isabell yelled so loud that the whole Ravenclaw house stared at her. Amelia looked sympathetic for a fraction of a second.
‘Stop shouting, you’re exaggerating!’ laughed Olivia.
‘Whatever,’ Isabell said, embarrassed, but she too, looked a little happier.
‘When will she stop acting like this?’ asked Olivia, glaring at Amelia, who was being mean to other students.
‘Only way is to ask the book.’
Olivia and Isabell hurriedly rushed to their beds and wrote:
Why did Amelia change? (Olivia)
She changed because she was being banned from going to Hogwarts, school of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Her father was a Death Eater, and so Amelia decided to join the dark lord in order to continue going to school. She also feels sad about what her dead mother would think if she was banned from going to the school her mother always talked to her about.
Olivia showed her the response, making Isabell shocked.
Why wouldn’t she tell us? (Isabell)
She didn’t tell you because she feels scared of the Malfoys and her father and stepmother.
When will she stop acting like this? (Olivia)
The book does not predict the future, it only answers questions which have an answer. This question does not. I can only give you a clue: Amelia Clearwater is not pure evil.
‘Well, this book is quite useful,’ Olivia said. ‘Shame it doesn’t tell the future.’
‘Thanks,’ Isabell said proudly as she stared at the answers.
‘I never said that you made it useful,’ said Olivia, grinning.
‘Well, I got it for you.’
‘Yes, but you didn’t invent it.’
‘Whatever already, let’s just… sleep… Night Olive.’
‘Great, now you call me Olive?’ Olivia laughed.
‘Fine I’ll call you... Liv.’ said Isabell, also grinning.
‘Actually, I do love olives! Call me whatever you want,’ yawned Olivia with a wide grin on her soft face.
‘Ok, potato!’ laughed Isabell.
‘Not like anything!’
Isabell and Olivia laughed for a while.
‘What’s your favourite subject?’ Isabell asked.
‘Uh, maybe… Potions?’
‘Potions? With Snape?’
‘You said what’s your favourite subject, not who’s your favourite teacher.’
‘What’s your favourite subject and the teacher counts,’ Isabell said, rolling her eyes.
‘Hmm… maybe Transfiguration or Charms. How about you?’
‘Charms.’
‘Really?’ Olivia said, raising an eyebrow. ‘I thought you said you hated Charms.’
‘I never said that.’
‘You did.’
‘Did not.’
‘Did too.’
Olivia and Isabell glared at each other then burst into laughter. They then decided to sleep and went to the Dormitory and slept comfortably while Amelia, who had been eavesdropping, stayed in the Common Room. She felt really sorrowful. Then decided that the only person to talk to was Hagrid. She felt thankful that Olivia introduced her to Rubeus Hagrid. Surely he would want to hear this? He could be asleep! It was late into the night. Surely he would help her out? She ought to go and check, for he’s the only person she could trust in these dark and miserable days.
