‘What happened to Amelia?’ asked Isabell sadly while they were going back to her mansion.
‘I dunno…’ said Olivia. ‘Her eyes turned really red, she was really mean all of a sudden… Do you think she’s still our friend?’
‘I-I don’t know, it’s so frustrating!’ said Isabell aggressively.
‘I can’t believe she threw the bracelet on the floor like that. It was still new…’ said Olivia, looking down.
‘Me neither, something’s up.’
‘D-do you th-think she p-practised j-joining You-Know-Who when the Malfoys came?’ asked Olivia fearfully.
‘She wouldn’t!’ Isabell whisper-shouted.
‘It seems like she has,’ said Olivia sadly as she remembered what Amelia’s mother had said.
How could Amelia practise joining him when her mother said she wouldn’t before she died?
Isabell sighed and Olivia yawned. It was still early in the morning.
‘Why’re you yawning?’ asked Isabell.
‘The Christmas holiday is over, and I don’t want to go back to Hogwarts with Amelia like this.’
‘Oh yeah, today’s the last day…’ said Isabell. ‘We should make it worth it then. When we get home, we can ask my mom and Mrs. Weasley for ideas to make it a really enjoyable day. If possible…’
It was obvious Isabell was worried about Amelia and what happened to her while she was talking.
‘Do you think she’ll hang out with us?’ asked Olivia, staring at her shoes.
‘I’m not sure.’
They entered the blue mansion and sat in the living room, looking pale and more miserable than ever. Isabell had thick tears coming down her soft cheeks, while Olivia patted on her weak back.
‘Wait-’ Olivia said as she took the book Isabell gave her.
She opened the last page, and she then wrote in neat handwriting:
Why was Amelia mean to us?
Then in the same handwriting appeared these words:
She has joined You-Know-Who. She has changed.
Isabell and Olivia stared at each other in shock and misery. Why would she do that? Isabell and Olivia wondered about Amelia and whether she, the Malfoys or her parents were behind it.
