Never Going to Hogwarts

Chapter 45

‘Mr. Clearwater and your stepmother said… you are never going to Hogwarts, they prepared a punishment for you…’ Draco said sadly.

'WHAT?’ Amelia said loudly for the first time.

She started to choke.

‘Don’t speak loudly, Amelia,’ said Mrs. Malfoy, stroking Amelia’s satiny golden-blonde locks.

‘Yes, it is true,’ said Mr. Malfoy, his lips curled.

‘B-but…’ began Amelia.

‘You will stay with us for a whole week at least,’ shrugged Draco, looking a little bit more cheerful.

Amelia however, looked horrible, paler than ever. She wanted to do anything to avoid seeing her cruel stepmom again.

‘We shouldn’t have said this, she just got poisoned yesterday!’ Mrs. Malfoy said, looking at Draco then Mr. Malfoy and back at the shocked Amelia.

‘Who poisoned me?’ Amelia said, hoping they would know the answer. Mr. and Mrs. Malfoy looked at each other darkly.

‘We don’t know…’ Mr. Malfoy said quite convincingly.

Amelia glared at him. She thought he was lying because she saw him and Mrs. Malfoy exchange dark looks.

‘How will I not stay at Hogwarts?’ Amelia mumbled to herself.

She looked on the verge of tears, while she mumbled a lot of unclear things.

Mr. Malfoy ignored what she said and continued.

‘Your parents said that is only if you can somehow get into Slytherin and become friends with me,’ said Draco.

‘And accept the... you know what... from your father,’ whispered Mr. Malfoy really quietly so Mrs. Malfoy didn't hear as he sat on a chair next to Amelia.

‘And leave those mudbloods, blood traitors and half bloods.  Then become friends with some of The Sacred 28, not including those blood traitor Weasleys,’ Mrs. Malfoy twitched when she said the name “Weasley”.

The Sacred 28 was what pure-bloods called the last British pure-blood families. Most of them were in Slytherin, and joined You-Know-Who (Voldemort), and there were 28 of them left, so they called them The Sacred 28.

Amelia was speechless. This is what she’s been avoiding for the whole year. Everything they said. Everything her father wanted…

‘I-I’ll join him,’ said Amelia after a while.

‘Join who?’ asked Mrs. Malfoy.

‘I-I’ll join D-draco in H-hogwarts,’ she said

Mr. Malfoy grinned and nodded.

‘It’s settled then. You and Draco find a way to get into Slytherin. Me and Narci-Mrs. Malfoy will find a way to get you back into Hogwarts. You can discuss other matters too if you’d like… Maybe a certain killer, lord, master…’ Mr. Malfoy whispered that last part. He really seemed like a Slytherin now.

Amelia and Draco grinned and seemed to know what he meant straight away. Draco grinned again since he now found out that Amelia would be joining practise You-Know-Who (Voldemort) with him.

But then Amelia remembered her mother’s words

My daughter will never join you.

A single tear slid down Amelia’s face.

I’ve got to do this… for Olivia and Isabell…

‘We have to take you back, Amelia,’ said Mrs. Malfoy, interrupting Amelia’s thoughts. ‘If you come, you can speak to your parents- I mean your father and stepmother and tell them everything. Maybe then they’ll let you stay at Hogwarts. Even though I highly recommend any other school. Dumbledore’s been losing his touch these days.’

The Malfoys left the ward and the rest came back in.

‘How are you feeling?’ asked Isabell, smiling at Amelia.

‘Good,’ replied Amelia, grinning.

Isabell looked curious.

‘So… Who did you choose?’ she questioned, looking closely at Amelia.

‘Choose for what?’

‘Who’s going to take you back home? Us or the Malfoys?’

‘The Malfoys,’ said Amelia, quickly, without hesitation, though she instantly regretted it.

‘What?’ yelled Olivia.

‘The Malfoys,’ repeated Amelia, wincing slightly.

‘A-are you sure?’ said Olivia, arching her eyebrows.

‘Yes, I want to go home with the Malfoys.’

Isabell and Olivia looked at each other, expressionless. Amelia was confused about how she was acting and why she didn’t tell the girls but she grinned. Amelia didn’t know why, but she was sort of happy for finally being free. She would be practising joining The Dark Lord! Her father wouldn’t be annoying her anymore. Amelia felt at home with it. It was her duty to serve You-Know-Who now. So she, Amelia, would be friends with Draco, and wouldn’t have to deal with him at school. She’d have to lose her friends… would they join him with her? That way they can be in it together. No, it was her duty to serve The Dark Lord alone, she would not let two silly girls stand in her way.

‘Amelia? You’ve been staring for a while, is everything ok?’ asked Olivia.

Olivia tried to see through her eyes-

Why can’t I do it? Olivia thought, glaring at Amelia suspiciously.

‘Yeah everything’s fine- Ouch!’ said Amelia.

‘Oh, I forgot to mention that the bracelet stings when you lie too,’ said Isabell, grinning.

Amelia took off the bracelet and she threw it on the floor.

‘W-why would you do that?’ said Isabell, close to the verge of tears. ‘I thought we were best friends…’

‘Amelia…’ said Olivia softly. ‘Is there something wrong?’

‘Stupid bracelet!’ yelled Amelia as she spat on it.

‘AMELIA! STOP HURTING ISABELL’S FEELINGS!’ shouted Olivia, but when she said this, she saw a red glint in Amelia’s eyes.

Olivia froze.

‘I don’t want a sting everytime I lie,’ said Amelia angrily. ‘Do I always have to be controlled?’

‘What happened with the Malfoys, Amelia?’ asked Hermione as she came into the room after she heard the shouting and yelling.

‘Yeah, you’re acting differently,’ said Cho as she followed Hermione in.

Soon enough all the people that were invited to Isabell’s house came into the room.

‘Get OUT!’ screamed Amelia. ‘I thought I didn't ask for a whole circus of mudbloods, blood traitors and halfbloods!’

Hermione was really offended, and so was Albert.

‘Now somethings really up,’ said Mrs. Weasley. ‘Please, calm down,’ she said kindly.

‘Don’t talk to me like that you filthy blood traitor!’ snapped Amelia. ‘I can speak however I want. You’re not my m-mother so you can’t do anything about it.’

‘Your real mother wouldn’t want this Amelia!’ said Olivia, patting Amelia's arm.

‘DON’T TALK TO ME ABOUT MY DEAD MOTHER EVER AGAIN!’ Amelia pushed Olivia’s hand away and drew her wand.

‘I take it back,’ said Isabell. ‘You are like your parents, more like your stepmother.’

Amelia’s eyes had turned red and it left no place for the beautiful blue.

‘LEAVE! RIGHT NOW!’ said Amelia viciously.

The Malfoys were outside the ward listening to the conversation. Mr. Malfoy and Draco came in and they grinned.

‘Everyone out!’ Mr. Malfoy yelled.

No one moved.

‘I said everyone out!’

This time only the children left.

Mr. Malfoy took out his wand. ‘I SAID EVERYONE OUT!’

All the people who were in the room walked out in fear.

‘Was that good?’ asked Amelia. ‘Did I prove myself worthy of joining the Dark Lord?’

‘You’re certainly improving,’ grinned Mr. Malfoy.

Draco smiled at Amelia.

‘Good job,’ said Draco. ‘Those people don’t know who they’re dealing with. You’ll get into Slytherin in no time.’

‘It’s ok, I talked to Mr. Clearwater and he said as long as she joined the Dark Lord she could stay at Hogwarts. She doesn’t need to get into Slytherin,’ whispered Mr. Malfoy.

Mrs. Malfoy came in after a while, when she finished talking to the healer.

‘Should I ignore Isabell and Olivia at Hogwarts?’ asked Amelia, frowning.

‘Of course you should! Only if they come in your way, then insult them and they will leave you alone,’ Draco talked like he was an expert at this kind of thing.

‘Y-yeah, b-but we were friends from the start of the year and-’

‘They made you lose concentration in your studies and were mean sometimes, I remember you writing in the letter you sent,’ Mrs. Malfoy said.

Amelia’s eyes were slowly turning to the nice shade of blue again.

‘Besides, you can be friends with a lot of Slytherin girls, they are very kind to only Slytherins,’ Draco said.

Amelia smiled weakly.

‘We can pick you up tomorrow morning, have your rest!’ said Mrs. Malfoy with a wide smile on her pale face.

‘Ok… Bye!’

The Malfoys left and no one came back in.
