The Hospital Wing

Chapter 52

The Hospital Wing

The next day the Ravenclaw team, Cho, Albert, Isabell and Hermione, were all sitting next to Olivia’s bed in the Hospital Wing. The bludger had hit her leg and it broke a bone, so she couldn’t walk at all. Madam Pomfrey (The Hogwarts matron) had told them that she would walk after a few days.

‘Where is Amelia?’ asked Olivia weakly.

‘Why would you want to see her?’ asked Isabell disgustedly.

‘I- nevermind that.’

While she was falling, Olivia had realised it was Amelia who had zoomed so quickly and saved her. But only she knew and nobody else. The whole school was buzzing about Olivia and the mystery saviour.

‘Did you see the match?’ A Gryffindor first-year student asked her friend.

‘I did! I can’t believe bludgers do hit a person without being hit by a beater!’ her friend replied, confused.

Amelia, who was walking past them, stared at them. They knew about Amelia, and were slightly fearful. She just threw a book about Quidditch at them and walked on. Amelia wanted to tell Olivia that it was she who saved her, but she couldn’t. Amelia had done enough damage as it is by duelling Draco. She didn’t know Olivia already knew about her save.

Amelia went to apologise to Draco for what she did and went to visit Hagrid again.

‘Come in Amelia!,’ said the usual booming, loud voice.

‘Hullo Hagrid!’ Amelia said cheerfully as Fang approached the door.

‘Did yeh hear abou’ Olivia?’ asked Hagrid, frowning.

‘Huh? What about her? Oh! Yes, well… a reason why I am here,’ shrugged Amelia.

Amelia explained how she got detention and when she saw through the nearest window that Olivia was falling, and how she used a speed potion so she could run fast to get her broom. She ended her speech by explaining how she zoomed to save Olivia just in time.

‘Did yeh tell Olivia this?’ Hagrid asked.

‘No, I didn’t have the chance to tell her, and why would she believe me if I did?’ sighed Amelia as she scratched Fang’s ears.

‘No, yeh should tell her!’ yelled Hagrid, shaking his head.

‘I told you Hagrid, I don’t have the chance to tell her.’

Hagrid raised his eyebrows.

‘Yeh can’t lie ter meh,’ he said. ‘An’ also, how did Professor Snape react ter this when yeh left detention?’

‘Snape didn’t go to the match…’

Professor Snape, but what I mean is, yeh were in detention righ’?’

Amelia nodded.

‘Ok, so what did Professor Snape do when yeh ran out of his classroom ter save Olivia?’ he said curiously.

‘Oh- he shouted so loud and was trying to run after me, I actually stole a speed potion he had…’ Amelia said apologetically. ‘I could have made it though, just one of the ingredients wasn’t in Hogwarts if I know, and it had to wait for a month, surely Olivia wouldn’t be falling from her broom for a whole month,’ laughed Amelia.

‘Yeh’ve made yer point,’ said Hagrid, grinning.

‘Oh well, I need to do my homework… Bye Hagrid! And thanks again for helping me!’ Amelia said happily as she skipped out of the wooden door.

She felt much better after the talk with Hagrid.
