Better than Ever
Chapter 44
Better than Ever
It was the next day they all woke up at nine o’clock. They got dressed into Muggle clothes and got ready to head to the hospital at eleven five. Olivia and Isabell grabbed some desserts from yesterday and Isabell ran upstairs to her room, put something in a plastic bag, ran downstairs with it and rushed towards the others.
‘I’m ready,’ she whispered to Mrs. Bluesky.
‘Ok.’
Isabell sat in the front seat, with Mrs. Bluesky driving, and the rest were seated in the back seat. Mrs. Bluesky drove very quickly to the destination Mr. Bluesky wrote to her. They arrived at an old shop. Mrs. Weasley was outside, waiting for them.
‘Oh good, you’re here.’
She hugged her children, and then stood by the glass. She tapped it with her wand. There was a dummy standing there.
‘We would like to enter.’
The dummy’s head nodded, the children gasped, then Mrs. Weasley gestured to them to walk through the glass, and so they did one by one. They all appeared at St. Mungos at last. Mrs. Bluesky had to stay outside since she was a Muggle.
There was a reception, where a lot of people were standing. There were people with noses that grew giant, as well as people with incredibly giant warts and moles. People with a lot of blood on their bodies, and people who had animal heads instead of human heads. There was a sign that said the levels and who was on there. The people who got poisoned were in level 2. Mrs. Weasley and the children found the ward that Amelia was in.
‘She’ll be ready to leave soon,’ said one of the healers. ‘You can pick her up tomorrow at six in the morning.’
‘Okay, thank you,’ said Mr. Bluesky as everyone walked towards Amelia.
‘We got you some of the dessert that Mrs. Bluesky and Mrs. Weasley made yesterday,’ said Olivia as she handed Amelia a quite large container full of all kinds of candy.
‘Thanks,’ said Amelia weakly.
‘I-I got you two something,’ said Isabell as she pulled out the plastic bag she grabbed earlier and reached inside to get something. ‘It-it’s a magical friendship bracelet along with an enchanted book…’ she said as she got out two gift boxes and handed them to Amelia and Olivia. ‘You know, since it’s Christmas.’
‘Wow, thank you so much but, how is it magical?’ asked Olivia.
‘It is a magical friendship bond bracelet. Stings you when you hurt your friends' feelings and if we want to speak to each other we tap on it and then we get a signal to open the book which is the other present and we can write to each other in it. The book can also answer any question you write in the last ten pages but please don’t cheat with it on tests!’
‘Promise I won’t,’ said Olivia.
‘Me too,’ said Amelia weakly but stronger than last time.
Isabell, Amelia and Olivia smiled at each other.
‘Hey! Maybe we can enchant our books to fit in our pockets or something when we go back to Hogwarts!’ Olivia suggested.
‘I can do it for you right now!’ said Mr. Bluesky. ‘Reducio!’
‘No thanks, dad. We can use a few different enchantments to make a secret phrase or something to shrink it and bring it back to the normal size,’ said Isabell.
Olivia and Amelia liked the idea and nodded their heads in unison.
‘Ok,’ he said. ‘Engorgio!’
‘Amelia!’ they heard a voice say. ‘Darling, are you alright?’
‘Mrs. Malfoy?’ asked Amelia. ‘I’m kind of fine, yeah, but what are you doi-’
‘WHY ARE YOU WITH THOSE BLOOD TRAITORS!’ interrupted another voice. ‘AND MUDBLOODS TOO!’
‘Mr. Malfoy?’
‘We’re here to take you back home. Your parents are really mad at you, dear,’ Mrs. Malfoy said.
‘Did someone invite them?’ whispered Olivia to Isabell.
‘I don’t think so,’ Isabell whispered back. ‘I never saw them up close, they look exactly like Draco.’
Mr. Malfoy had platinum blonde hair, like Draco. It was shoulder-length. He had light grey eyes and a really pale pointed face. Mrs. Malfoy had her blonde hair up in a loose bun with a side swept fringe. She had aqua blue eyes. But, she looked very worried.
‘It’s ok, Amelia, dear. The healer said we have to pick you up tomorrow,’ Mrs. Malfoy said, glaring at Mr. Bluesky in disgust.
‘HOW DARE YOU TAKE HER!’ Mr. Malfoy shouted so loudly that some healers had to come in and check out the source of the voice. ‘I SHALL TELL THE MINISTER-’
‘For your information Lucius, I have a high position at the Ministry, and I see it is worthless to get Cornelius in the business when he has a lot of work already,’ Mr. Bluesky said as he glared at the Malfoys in pure loath.
‘Oh, really? Well if I tell the minister to fire you, would you be in a high pos-’
‘Hello? Father and mother? You here?’ said a familiar voice.
It was Draco, appearing in the speechless room. He saw Amelia smiling at him, and so he waved quickly, then glared at his pale looking parents.
‘I think the Malfoys need some time with Amelia,’ Mrs. Weasley broke the silence.
Everyone else left, leaving the Malfoys with the tired Amelia who had blood-shot eyes.
‘I hope they don’t get too mad,’ said Olivia worriedly as they exited the ward. Isabell nodded.
‘Me too,’ agreed Hermione and Cho.
